So How do you create a CRL on a costume that's got so many variations? Grey on this ab plate but not that one....

Right!, this is an unusual one for FISD with so many variations, and something that will be under discussion to work out how we get some kind of balance between flexibility and what we see on screen.

I think one important factor is to try and keep it easy, not convoluted, which in turn can get confusing.

This is only an extreme example, but we don't see an all grey Night Trooper on screen, so that seems logical to dismiss.

We do see several different combinations of components in grey, but what might be nice is to simply have a minimum of say one grey component, and possibly a maximum of Three.

That's if you wish to have grey components because quite a few had none. (options!!!)

Find one on screen you like and match it, or even make your own combo of 1 to 3 components, or none of course.

I agree there are so many possibilities, this could be our fist CRL that allows more flare than others because they are so different and so many.

Then there is the cracking, I really feel that should be an open aspect, we are not trying to make a level like MEPD where you must pick one and make it exactly like the picture for Level 3.

Personally, I've never been against having a new level to go that extreme, but there has never seemed to be much interest to pursue it.

I am interested to hear from as many members and staff as possible so we can land on common ground to be honest.

Above is only an idea to drive conversation and move us forward, but it is a great question to have asked.

  2. There are a couple of members currently working on the Imperial commandos, so this is a work in progress.

They have been asked to add build threads to the forums so we can track their progress and assist in the CRL creation.

Cardinal will come up for discussion again this term with the LMO team once it is ratified with any staff changes.

We all would love to see more of the R1 TK style armour come to life as there are some excellent looking costumes there, but also the animated phase 3 for sure.

Let's also not forget Captain Enoch, Ashoka series) again a few working on the costumes, we have a build thread here by TK 44228

  3. Great discussion topic Guy.

We should, if we can find the information, refer to them as LFL does.

I vaguely recollect something on Starwars.com, which could be where the Imperial Commando's came from.

Once we have clarity, we should go with the LFL canon.

    Hi

I hope I'm right here too. I have been a member of the FISD since 2020 and have been in PENDING status since then. I checked everything. Mail is correct, forum name is the same, TK ID is correct. But somehow it doesn't seem to work for me with the recognition in the census. Can someone please help me?

    Thank you in advance

    Mirko

Mirko, you have no legion ID (not your TKID) info added in your Profile, also you have no email listed, this probably means the sync won't work as it matches identicle email addresses with the one you supplied to legion. (that is important, they are the same for the back end system and the leading cause of failures to sync)

Please update that first and let's see what happens.

Also, AFAIK, it's only ever used once a year and that is during detachment elections.  So not much to-do until next cycle (which is why we only updated it annually), or am I missing something?

Yes, Legion do an annual update, but considering the volume of members we have, plus the coming and going of members in legion, I have been doing our maintenance quarterly so it didn't go back to the mess it was prior.

It is time-consuming, so keeping it up to date has made that far easier to manage.

Most of the maintenance has been members retired from the legion, and there has been loads of them, probably due to the Covid years.

  7. There looks to be a few wishing to work on this, which is truly wonderful.

Make sure all of you create build threads in the appropriate area, and I'm sure this CRL will be awesome with several working to give input.

Considering this is really our first hard and soft costume with an extended line-up of new gadgetry for FISD, I am positive we can learn from other legion CRL's which have similar set-ups like BHG for example.

Research for all of us is key, together we can get this done in a shorter time frame with an accurate and detailed CRL.

I don't know if this is the right thread. But I did my census  when required and all was good. Check today and noticed my detachment affilation to FISD was on retired?

How can I change to active or is it something to not worry about?

Note last troop date is incorrect as census didn't have December 2023.

    Kind regards TK51992

Currently, you have full 501st Stormtrooper access to our forums. If your Legion profile is stating retired, you will need to take that up with your GML.

How does one become retired? generally you don't troop for a year and your GML sets you to reserve. Don't troop for 2 years in a row, you get set to retired due to inactivity. Some Garrisons enforce this more than others.

This is garrison and Legion controlled.

Only your affiliation to a detachment breaks if you do not log into that detachments' forum for a year.

That is an automatic function the legion database picks up when it does its annual sync to all units for census and for Elections.

The responsibility to prevent breakage of affiliation rest with the individual, and only requires you to log into a forum.

Using an app like Taptalk, unfortunately will not work, and is a known probable that remains unfixable.

Only log in from phone using a browser or log in on a PC/laptop.

Use your phone browser or a PC and log in.

Next, all DL's are supposed to go through the Legion's massive membership database and any member that the legion database state as retired, then requires their detachment access to be reset to basic member.

As you are still a full member indicated by the banner under your Avatar, you can tell this was not caused by the detachment Leader, which was myself :)

That's the story of how this all works, unless the sync itself fails to pick up all data accurately, which directs you back to your GML and Legion.

Hope this is helpful for yourself and others.

  9. The voting phase of legion Elections starts today in approximately 2 hour 20 minutes from the time of this post

As you may be aware, the main Legion forum has been having difficulties sending out email blasts to all the members, due to rate limiting.  So they have asked all the various units to step up and make sure important Legion news gets broadcast to all members.

Though there are no elections here at FISD, the LCO office as well as other units do have elections that require your vote!  Please check your local Garrison, Legion or other Detachment forums forum to check the Q&As and evaluate your candidates so you can make an informed choice.

The main Legion election information, including LCO Q&A and opening and closing statements, maybe be found on the main forum.  https://www.501st.com/elections/

Remember:  this is your Legion!  So don't just stand there.... VOTE!
