Congratulations on a beautiful build. I would suggest you glue a little dark grey foam behind the top of your shin to keep your knee plate from tucking in under your thigh when you walk.

Yea I do. But I like that amount.  I seem to have stopped the tears by doubling up on the thickness of the plastic and using a hard CA glue and epoxy.

A little update on the crack repair. Epoxy really is not the best glue to use here. I think abs plastic glue (old fashioned plastic model glue) that melts abs would be better as it welds the pieces together. Epoxy just glued the surfaces together and in my case it let go and the strip lifted up on one end.

[Storm trooper Voice box]

I just use an acker voice amp. They are cheap with a crummy speaker and cheap mic. The bad quality makes you sound like a storm trooper. Sounds like an old loudspeaker voice. You don't get the clicks but every time I speak people get a big kick out of it. I spent a long time shopping Amazon and eBay looking for one and finally found one for around 35 bucks. No need to spend 60 on these things.

[My ANH build questions]

Yup the first photo is correct. Strengthen the joint with an inner strip. Then trim the back of the leg to match your leg diameter. Your outside cover strips must be consistent width all the way down your legs.

[What defines a good snap?]

I also put a very thin square of plastic over the snap. When you want to unsnap them your finger gets under the plastic and the snap pops right off. I only did it in snaps I know I had to undo all the time. It saves from pulling on the elastic which pulls it away from the snap going through it.

Starting to get stress cracks along the edges of the arm area of the chest armor. I epoxied a plastic strip along the edge to hold the cracks shut and prevent them from getting longer / more numerous. The extra plastic strip is on the inside of the return edge. E6000 would be too flexible for this.

Yea the brow is a bit high in the front better on the sides. Sqr up the teeth a little with a tiny file.

Your helmet looks great inside. Most people paint it black in there so when kids try to perk up under your chin the cannot see much of anything.

 

I would say you have passed the rookie stage of building.

I use silicon wax and enjoy wiping down and cleaning up my kit out in my man-cave while listening to the radio. I usually do it the night before to get in the "trooping frame of mind".

[What should I wear within the TK Armor? Under Armor or Other Black Suits?]

I got Eastbay real cheap. The shirt is real nice. You want a heavier weight fabric not a leotard. The pants are nice except they have white stitching that I have to occasionally rub with a black sharpie but the whole get up was something like $30.00.

[Sandpaper to smooth edges]

You can put a nice final finish with 300-600. If you go high like 600 use the black color "wet" sandpaper with water to keep the grit of the paper open. I never went above 220-300 on my build and i have real soft edges.
