  1. Found another possible boot http://www.sheltonsaddlery.com/Taurus_Classic_Jodhpur_Boots/p76437_228202.aspx ------------
  2. I wiped the boots lightly with some paint thinner and a cloth, not much, just to take off some of the shoepolish (they had been buffed to a parade shine). I am using a semi fine brush that fits right into the opening of the Angelus paint bottle. This is the result after two thin layers.
  3. After one layer of Angelus paint, they look like this
  4. It is not the shape of the band that is the only problem with these. The way they are sewn, giving them that extra seam ("tongue") on the front, is the bigger issue, the front must be all smooth. The soles also appear a bit too large......and the DocMartens also have the brand name embossed, that is a no go as well.
  5. That all depends how much you are willing to pay.... Take a look in this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24742-tk-boots-a-list-of-suitable-candidates/
  6. I have made this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24742-tk-boots-a-list-of-suitable-candidates/ The boots on this list are not cheap, but they are high quality, and will last you a lifetime....
  7. I have compiled this list. I am aware that These are not in your initial price range, and they need painting. But they are fantastic boots, and will last a lifetime... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24742-tk-boots-a-list-of-suitable-candidates/
  8. Hurrah.. The Angelus white leather paint arrived just now. Let the painting begin..:-).....
  9. Ahaa ochså jag har köpt TM, hoppas den kommer i September....och så er det dags for NG:-)....Thanks for the 10% source... That will be just fine I think.....will let you know how my boots turn out....and let me hear about yours...
  10. Hej David Korrekt Søren(Sören) Er du i Nordic Garison, eller som jag, en "prospect"? Like I said, handcrafted shoes are fantastic, and they last a lifetime, a bit stiff in the beginning due to the nature of the construction... Click this link to see how they are made: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_W7_hPugqro I have not noticed that there were different ones.....I could only see WHITE and NEUTRAL on the colourchart at Trainerspy.....I would go for the satin highgloss though, to avoid them ending up looking like white patent leather or plastic...... Soren
  11. They look the part but, they only go up to womens size 9, and more importantly, they are made of plastic through and through, probably won't last, and I doubt they are comfortable to wear...just my 2 cents...
  12. Hejsan David...:-) Congrats on your Loakes, if you have never owned a pair of handcrafted shoes you are in for a treat....they are lovely. I only have shoes from Loake and the likes, and I will never go back. Some of them are 7 years old, and you cant tell they have been worn except for the soles naturally, that show signs of wear, but they have not been resoled yet. I bought the Angelus paint on ebay, from a vendor in Scotland... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Trainerspy?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 shipping was 4£ (standard intl. Shipping), and 118 ml. Cost 9.99£ Thanks for the info on the Loake site, and the 10 off...will include it in the beginning..I know that Herring Shoes sell them as well, and they ship worldwide....
  13. HeyI haven't used it yet, as it is still in the mail. I have checked an Angelus colourchart, and there is only one white. I think TM painted his originals with Angelus, you can see a pic of them here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24715-boots-for-my-tk/ furthest down in the thread....
  14. Looks like it, but they only go up to womens size 9, and more importantly, they are made of plastic through and through, probably won't last, and I doubt they are comfortable to wear...just my 2 cents...
  15. Hi all As I understand it, there seem to be some difficulties in finding suitable Boots for Stormtroopers, now that TK boots, most unfortunately, do not have a steady supply (at least thats what I understand). I have compiled a small selection of boots that meet the standards, and at the same time are high quality boots. It puzzles me, that people seem willing to pay only very little for boots. I fully appreciate that we all want to save money, but paying a lot of money for weapons, and not to mention how much we are willing to part with when it comes to lids, armour etc, is no problem. Paying 200$ and more for a pair of boots, on the other hand seems a big deal to a lot of people. The way I see it, boots that are better crafted will last longer, some of them look very much like the originals as well, and they are simply a pleasure to wear. Ihave not trooped much, but I know a lot about marching, and I believe that trooping takes a lot of walking. A lot of walking calls for proper footwear, so why not pay the extra money, and have very high quality, throughout the entire "costume".. ( I see it more as a uniform than costume:-))..from "top to toe" ..? This is the list, all of them meet the standards and will pass for both EIB and Centurion, but none come in white. They all have Goodyear welted leathersoles and they will need a paintjob. Angelus is the thing to use (that is what I used on mine). Loake 290, RRP 160£+shipping, can sometimes be found used on ebay quite cheap, found here: http://www.andersonsofdurham.com/en/mens-shoes/loake-shoes/loake-290.html, WELCOM10 or WELCOME10 is a 10% off code. Or here: http://herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&brandid=7&shoeid=231 Loake Bayswater, RRP 205£+shipping found here: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&brandid=7&shoeid=3920 Herring Coltham, RRP 175£+shipping, found here: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?brandid=6&catid=93&shoeid=3044 John White chelsea boot, RRP169£+shipping, seen on ebay at 89£, found here: http://www.johnwhiteshoes.com/?s=Chelsea&post_type=product Regent Jodphur boots, 96£+shipping, found here: http://shop.horserequisites.co.uk/epages/Gagar.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/13062006-11837/Products/%22FW0001/6%2B%22 The next ones are Danish Military issue. They are produced by a company in Portugal. I have been talking to the company the last three days, and unfortunately they normally don't sell to private individuals. They look like this: Edit November 2013: Adding two aditional pairs of boots to the list. These are not of the same standards qualitywise, but they are basic CRL cleared, whether or not they will pass for EIB and Centurion I am not aware. Bass Amsterdam chelsea boots, RRP found here: http://www.amazon.com/Bass-Mens-Amsterdam-Ankle-Boot/dp/B003TFEVN0 Or Lands End Fulton chelsea boots, RRP 95$, found here: http://www.landsend.com/products/mens-fulton-chelsea-boots/id_228833 Edit June 2015: Found these referred to in another thread, good looking boots at a fair price, and both EIB and CENT certifiable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roamers-Chelsea-Jodhpur-Riding-Leather/dp/B00P940A7U
  16. I am flabbergasted!..Amazing!....I wish I could construct something like that.....
  17. Update! Okay, talked to the QMS and he was able to point me in the right direction. I have now located the company that makes these boots, and I am in the process of working out price etc. I will post details as I get them
  18. Thnx TM :-) I am in the proces of finding the maker (it is not Loake, unfortunately, as I love Loakes), and am making good progress so far :-). I will post the make, where to find them and the price, if I am able to find out.
  19. Like Mathias said, military issue. There is no brand or makers name visible whatsoever. There are a series of numbers on the inside.I can look into who makes them, and maybe come up with an answer, but expect them to be quite pricey, as they are leathersoled and goodyear welted.......my guess is they will set you back at least a couple of hundred US $...
  20. Roger!....I will do my utmost during the paintjob:-).....thanks for the link...have read it!:-)
  21. Good enough for an eventual Centurion application?
  22. The original ones did not have a pull tab to the front as far as I know......?..
  23. Hi I am new to all this but I have spent some months on research, including Comms with the Nordic Garrison. I am aiming to enlist this autumn, and I have procured all that I need, including a TM armour.(just waiting impatiently for it all to arrive). I am considering using these boots. They are Danish army issue, to Guards Officers,(I used to be one) and I think they look quite the part, with the tongue on the rear, and the stitching aligned with the edge of the heel, leather soles and goodyear welted, much like the original ones Naturally they will be painted white, using Angelus paint...as soon as it arrives in the mail.
  24. How about finding a pair from Loake in the UK? I have several pairs of boots from this brand, I know they are a bit expensive, but handcrafted, Goodyear welted shoes will last a lifetime, and they are a pleassure to walk in. http://herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&brandid=7&shoeid=231
