Found this on the MEPD, the guys over there seem to like it at the moment.

I was curious to see if this is an accurate enough Sterling replica to be approved. Obviously it wouldn't be very good for trooping because it is an airsoft gun, but I want to know how accurate to the original this one is.

Brody,
I don't know if this will help, but I simply photocopied the decals I received, cut up the copies, and used those as templates. I believe if you are looking for a good template, you would need to specify which helmet you have, as size of traps vary by helmet.
Yeah, I have an ATA bucket.

All I can tell you is to look around this area of the forum for other build threads. It's amazing what you can learn from them

So, MakerofThings has a new way to make money, eh? LOL
And to think, I almost bought a helmet kit from him, and then I joined the FISD

If someone has, or has the know-how, please post some printable trap templates, please

Looking very nice

No not screwed up at all, when you look at the screen lids you will see all kinds of huge gaps lol. A little fresh air in the lid will help keep you cool and stop your visor from fogging up, definitely think of investing in a few fans too, makes all the difference
Okay, good

Yeah, I have to agree with Vern. Trim some by the chin. It also helps to wear a thin balaclava, to sort of push your ears closer to your head.

Not sure if these are accurate or not but...

My ATA kit came with a 18" X 18" sheet of HIPS. It was more than enough for me to do my finishing strips. You might wanna get the proper "S" neck trim material. CA glue is also helpful when you need to bond something quick because the E6000 needs time to cure/harden. Check out TK-4510's supplies he has on his website.
The kit should come with the neck trim. My helmet kit did.

Very helpful, thank you.

It is unfortunate that Lucasfilm see fit to licence inaccurate armour instead of speaking to fan 'professionals.' You know, people who make armour out of love (as well as ABS and HIPS .)
LOL

The second one I posted might just be my favorite of the two. It would of been cool if they dressed in full armor, but I doubt the armor could take that much of a beating.

Man, I sure wish my Dad made high quality Stormtrooper armor. All he is a minister 8 *sigh*.

Gaps do help get cool air into your lid so I wouldn't worry too much if you are left with a small gap
Awesome, now I don't feel like I screwed up to much on my first build.

Here is some more.

Ahh, thanks

Anybody have a printable helmet padding template?
-
Brandon, I tried to follow Pandatrooper's ATA lid build as closely as I could. So all I did was cut as close to part that is all "wavy" as I could. After looking at some other reference pictures, I don't mind the gaps.

Yeah, I am working on my first bucket. Mine is an ATA, it is great quality, ABS plastic, a little small, so if you have a large head it might not work out for you. But if you have a smaller head I highly recommend one. Great price too. Best of luck

These are wonderful! Do you have stencils for the tears and traps too?

ATA better for stunt or hero?

Great choice going with ATA!
