The cod is definitely weird.
Also, that trooper on the left is suffering from an acute case of "Happy Trooper" and could use a taint strap.

No shame in needing assistance to get into these kits ... ;-)

Based on other work I've seen, 2.75" seems to be a bit large for the shoulder cog. Perhaps 2" - 2.5" would be more accurate?
-
For anyone who still needs one. Good until 11pm ET today.

It's a TFA snowtrooper pack. Jim Tripon (jimmiroquai) has sold them in kit form. Like all of his stuff, it's made of his flexible fiberglass.
WTF also has a kit under development. I believe his is vacuformed ABS.

Nicely done. Where did you get the spare parts - back/yoke, thermal detonator, and shoulders? Also, what size (diameter) are your shoulder cogs?

You can bring the kidney plate up a bit and/or the upper back plate down a bit so that the gap space between the butt/kidney and kidney/back is more or less the same. But that's a fitting tweak and shouldn't affect your application for the purposes of 501st membership at tne basic level.

Inspirational job! Can't wait for my spare parts to arrive so that I can start my Executioner conversion.

So they would fall under the FISD and not the SpecOp's then correct? Since they are a division of the Stormtroopers and not a entirely separate unit?
FISD is where I would put them.

The book also specifically says that Phasma had her chromed-out heavy rifle (and sidearm - didn't know she carried one) manufactured in secret just for her, but nothing about Cardinal's blaster being anything more than a red F-11D. As indirect as that is, it still provides a bit more backing to the "it's just a red F-11D" theory.

Not sure I've ever seen Decals for the bucket. Most people just paint it.
Trooperbay does Decals for the kit but not the bucket.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProThat's a good idea, actually. If he has access to a particular lid, he can create files for the decals and print/sell them as needed. He's done so for virtually every OT TK lid out there.

The book refers to his blaster as a "gleaming red" and in a few places mentions him holstering his blaster. That implies a standard F-11D since there is no easy way to holster the larger Heavy or Phasma rifle version. IMO, it's safe to say that if you take the white parts of a standard F-11D and print/paint them in red, you are good to go.

Ah, ok. It must be the Executioner helmet but seen from the non-painted side, then.
-
I assume you've already contacted Jim directly - perhaps he can supply them for you?
On an unrelated note ... where did you find this image? This is the first time I've seen what appears to be a 100% accurate TLJ helmet from a full-on profile view and to this scale.

Also, if you are looking for an alternate source for gloves, there is EndorFinders. I can't attest to their quality (mine are from ImperialBoots), but they are certainly far cheaper and seem to be more available. I may end up buying a spare set from them.

If you have access to a 3D printer, there are free files here at FISD that you can download to print/assemble your own rifle and pistol. Or if you want something already assembled, Heston 3D Solutions on Etsy seems to be a popular choice.

Having seen a Jimmi kit up close, at your size I think that's a good choice.
-
By "traitor" are you referring to Riot Control stormtroopers, e.g. FN-2199 (or more widely yet incorrectly known as "TR8R")?
The way I see it, neither the Executioner nor the Riot Control stormtroopers are one-off "face characters" but specialists within the First Order Stormtroopers Corps. While they will certainly only be a small number seen at any given time compared to the overall force, there is nothing limiting to them being a one-at-a-time seen character.
And yes, FN-2199's wrist boxes are missing. Most likely to allow for added mobility when executing those sick spins with the baton.

I think that the photos we are seeing is conclusive evidence that aside from the helmet there are no significant differences between a basic TFA trooper and a basic TLJ trooper. Good news for those of us who already own TFA suits - a simple helmet swap and we are good to go for the premiere.
-
In addition to SpecOps (which owns the costume from a 501st perspective), there is the Death Troopers Build Group on FB.
-
I imagine that since it comes from a canon source, it is approvable - once the CRL entry for him is written. That also means *someone* has to be the first Cardinal - hint, hint.

You can paint the interior of the helmet, or a quick and easy solution (if you have the extra material) is to use a double layer of acetate for the lenses.
-
If you need to shorten the abdominal armor (which is likely) you can cut the cod where it meets the ab plate and remove a couple of inches off the plastic. The belt should cover the seam.
Vocoder Gloss or Satin?

I would go with satin.
