We all have different body types, and there a plenty of troopers here that don't fit the movie mold. Keep in mind that technically the ab plate and kidney plate do not need to close all of the way. You can have gaps on the side for basic level approval.
However, you can also shim the sides to close all of the way with some extra ABS. You will learn all about how to do that here if that is the path you eventually take. Look at the various vetted armor makers on the getting started page and see what sounds right for you. AM may be a good choice. We are here to help with the rest.

Anyone familiar with this website and the armor discussed therein? I've had a couple of questions come up about the website recently, but I'm not familiar with the website or the kit.

I use mine to secure my thigh garter system as well.

Looking good brother! Just remember, now you have to keep standing. None of this sitting or kneeling stuff you got used to as a Scout!

Thanks all. We really did have a good time.i don't have all of the pics to post, but we took plenty more with the marines in attendance. This was my first troop sans blaster, and ironically, nobody noticed but me.

For those not keeping up with the changes, LFL revised the policy a bit last night. They are still requesting that we leave blasters at home for all Disney/ LFL troops and movie premieres until January 7th. They would prefer that we follow the policy for other troops, but essentially will defer to local units. Legion command is working hard to stay in constant communication with us and LFL on this issue.

Until further notice.... Don't like the sound of that.

I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs and I went with ATA. The fit is perfect and I love my kit, but the wait is indeed long. At your size, just about any of the screen derived suits from our vetted sellers will work.

Accepting a demotion, eh?

Is the internal strapping system in the chest/back made of webbing or elastic? I know the arms are elastic and the thighs are webbing, but I have seen conflicting answers on what to use for the chest/back.
Everyone has their own preferences for strapping, but IMHO I think elastic is best everywhere so that you have a little give when you move. Static elastic can stress the plastic creating higher likelihood of cracks.

I'm always slow when it comes to posting troops! Not sure what my problem is. Earlier this fall, some troops and I had an opportunity to make an appearance at the Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk in Allentown, PA. The walk raises money to battle Down Sydrome, and year-in/year-out, it is a great event to attend. Always lots of smiles! Here are a few pics of our troop:

You can also contact the seller for a replacement set. If you used e6000 to bind it to the chest, you can pop the broken sucker off and replace it. New set of bridges shouldn't run much. Heck, somebody here might even have a spare or two.

Do you wear those backwards with the rubber looking side is on top of the hands, or just the way they are pictured?

These work great for trooping when you don't use the rubber ones.
