  1. Latest post from KB: It was suggested I start a go fund me for mold storage, I thought that was a good idea, here is the link and if you can support kb props, I will be eternally grateful. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-kb-props-store-molds-safely
  2. A lot of hobby stores carry it, not sure if you have any local. You could try the Humbrol #14 it's available on Ebay. Or even reach out to local members, some buy a tin and only use it once, you can find troops close to your here https://www.501st.com/maps/
  3. Unfortunately Andras has not been on the forum since July 2024, you may be able to contact him on Facebook (or find info) https://www.facebook.com/p/ProtoWerkstatt-100064095818083/
  4. Looks good
  5. Nice work, looking good. If needed you can cut cover strips on an angle or shorter if they hang over the ends at all, mind you most just cut the overhang off, all is approvable
  6. Information posted by KB Props on Facebook 17th January 2025 I need to sell all of my molds as I can no longer make armor. I am physically unable to continue. I am being forced to move from the shop into an apartment and I would like to offer my molds for sale to someone that wants to carry on making my kits. Everything needs to go, not able to sell just pieces. I was making First Order armor kits all from that series of movies TK , Snow, Tie , Flame and started on Jet Trooper. I also make all R1 armor kits Shore, Tank Death, except TK. Imperial Knight in 3 sizes as well as my old clone trooper molds. All helmet molds and masters are available with the molds. ONLY serious inquires PLEASE. When sold, I will reimburse any and all orders unfulfilled. I am sorry for this but I do not have a choice. Please contact me at [email protected] to start this process. I will not be responding to posts added here (Facebook) , only email. This may give some hope to those with outstanding orders
  7. Exciting times
  8. My PETG looked just like your first photos, I'm now using a high speed PLA+ which appears much nicer to print than regular PLA+, have not seen any high speed PETG locally as yet, but we are a bit behind down here, takes a while to get anything new, unless you pay through the nose. I've not tried the thinned down blade putty as yet BUT our spray putty is similar to that and fills lines nicely, still need to give a rough sand though, it's the main part I hate about 3D printing. I use pen springs in most of my blaster builds. With the half spring when cut it will be angled so I just use some pliers to twist it so it makes a flat O if that makes sense. EDIT, definitely pen springs "(2) common ink pen springs" by the looks this is standard in Bryan's models
  9. You never forget your first. Looking forward to seeing some troop photos, don't forget to start a troop log https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/13-field-training-exercises/
  10. You can search for your local garrison here https://www.501st.com/maps/imagemap-northamerica.php
  11. EDIT just searched and found you have previously requested this and we have given you the information in regards to detachment affiliation. Legion has an automated process which syncs the legion member database with the forums prior to the elections each year and should re-activate your detachment affiliation, so long as you still meet all other requirements listed in the thread below. Make sure you log into the forums at least once per term (election to election) You could contact the Legion Web Team for more information about the sync email: [email protected]
  12. "I had to cut them down using a rotary tool (wear protective glasses) and bent them to shape using pliers"
  13. You already have TK 501st access If you are having issues with detachment affiliation read this post
  14. You could but you would not be eligible to receive trooping awards as you are not a member, it may also get confusing to add a total number of troops to the title as they are not official troops, perhaps just name it Drfaustus troops or adventures so it doesn't get confusing with official troop logs.
  15. A troop without a TK designation would not be an official troop so really shouldn't be added unfortunately, the trooping award program is really only for approved members
  16. A whole lot of sanding there, well done. Congratulations on receiving approval
  17. Hello and welcome aboard, if you are legion approved you can request higher access here
  18. I use a suit case for most troops, I've had to travel by air a few times and take a stanley box which is pretty tough but cargo crew did managed to knock off a wheel. I also had foam inside the box and wrapped all armor pieces with soft cloth pouches. Suitcase is much easier for transport locally
  19. My OTTK is ATA and that's one of the thicker armors out there, the only thing I've had issues with is the shoulder straps, I've had one crack and I ended up heating a pieces of ABS sheet to conform to the strap then sand and glue it, I do this to all my TK builds now. Really depends on your armor, how thick it is, what you do wearing it, I had a member with RS which is pretty thin, he was pretty rough with it, he had cracks everywhere, he would add some material and superglue behind the cracks to stop them getting worse. You can also use scrap plastic and E6000 but that has flex, 2 pack glue, devcon, JB weld, superglue (although I don't find that very strong), ABS paste or fiberglass mat and resin. There are so many ways you can fix and strengthen areas really up to what you have available and what you are comfortable using.

The level of destruction seems to be impossible to understand. I hope that your city bounces back, even if forever changed. This will be the last newsletter for this term, on January 27th the election cycle begins once again with nominations, and the Q&A starting February 1st. This is also your last chance to ensure you have logged, and so confirm your Detachment affiliation, before the legion team run the sync. This is run shortly before the elections to match up the forum and the legion records prior to the elections. There is more detail on both Detachment Affiliation and the Elections later on in the newsletter to make sure you're up to speed. As we come to the end of this year it's some times nice to look back on what we have done. We relaunched the Master Armourer Program with a number being issued. We also had member @TheRascalKing donate rocker patches for those we reach the 2nd tier. The Vaders Valkyries ran a contest to find a logo. There was some excellent entries and a great logo was chosen. The Valkryies are out female, and female presenting wing and it would be fantastic to see this grow. We had a couple of funding drives. The detachment has a number of costs and covering these falls to you the members generosity. We also completed a lot of CRL work. A change was made to all current CRLs to clarify acceptable materials and 3D print lines must be removed. This was in coordination with the LMO who helped with the changes on the databank. We finally had the Imperial Commando CRL go live, with an excellent build that went on to earn Centurion. This is a great costume and something a bit different for us so will be great to see more of these in the future. The Captain Enoch CRL draft saw a lot of action. The initial draft CRL is ready to go and a number of builds are very close to being done. Another fantastic costume and another that is breaking new ground for the Detachment. The DMBO @jsilvius has run some fantastic merch this year. It was a racing shirt year which came out fantastic. There was also the First Order Patches, Branding shirt and hoody and how can we forget the fantastic blue glass shield challenge coin. Finally we secured the forums future with a new server. During the year the existing server was struggling to keep up with the demand. The legion have been hosting us for a number of years on what was only ever meant to be a short term basis. This meant we had to either live with the problem or take matters into our own hands. @Daetrin passed the torch of the domain to myself, having been the steward for this since the start. Cloudflare was added, initially to the old sever to try and help whilst the new server was prepared. Cloudflare acts as a buffer before our server to help reduce load by caching data, block problems and attacks, and generally help us out. Finally we moved to out new server on January 5th. After a few hours of down time, and then a few more whilst background tasks ran, the new machine has been flying, something you have all hopefully noticed. This however doesn't come for free so once the initial credit expires we will need to be looking into funding this for the future. Thank you to all of you, the members who make this detachment what it is. Without you we would be nothing. Troopers helping troopers. With Unquestioned Loyalty Chris Pearson TK-10991 "themaninthesuitcase" Detachment Leader Greetings fellow members Wow, the last newsletter for the term already! Hard to believe, yet here we are. Before going into anything further, I would like to echo Chris’s sentiments on the horrific fires devastating California. We are hoping all members are safe and as unaffected as possible. I would like to thank our DL Chris, and the whole team for the great job done over these past 12 months. Personally, I feel he has done a tremendous job leading the Detachment and getting us off the Legion server. We are leaving behind the issues, dropouts and slooow loading times, and are a self-sufficient Detachment at last. Awesome effort Chris, it has been a pleasure to serve under you this term. Let’s see what 2025 has in store for FISD! With Unquestioned Loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 "Sly11" Executive Officer Greetings Troopers! Well, we've reached that time of year, it is almost time for Legion Elections. I have enjoyed being your MBO for the past few years, and hope that no matter the out come of the Detachment election, I'll be invited back to the role as I have some ideas for this next term and the next which will be our 20th Anniversary term in 2026! Be sure that you participate in the election as that is your way to voice you thoughts on the direct of the Detachment. Old Business "FISD EIB Coins" EI coins are still available, but quantities are becoming limited. In order to buy one, you have to have an approved EI costume and you can not have ever bought an EIB coin. EIB coins are a once and done coin. If you have this one and would prefer one of the older versions, I may have an option for you so please dm me. EIB v11 coin run is open "FISD Standard Logo Hoodie/T-Shirt" The Standard Logo T-shirt/hoodie run is complete, all items have been shipped. Any issues should be reported directly to Custom Ink. If you have issues, please let me know. Standard Logo T-Shirt/Hoodie run "Advance to 1500 Keyring/Zipper pull" Run has been extended to 1 Feb 2025. This is a non-branded merch item, so it does not take one of our limited slots. This run will start on 9 DEC 2024 - 1 Feb 2025. We are going to place a maximum limit of 20 per approved 501st member. Please keep this in mind when doing Group orders. These key tags will be woven so the details are sharp. There is only one variant, the design below shows both side of the tag. More information can be found here. New Business "FISD Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 patch" This run is now open, and closes on 3 Feb 2025. Information for the run can be found here. "FISD Stepping Out Challenge Coin" One of the most requested items in the past couple of years has been the "Stepping Out" logo on merch. We received a lot of interest on the interest thread, so this run will be the last item for the term. This run will open 27 Jan 2025 and will close on 24 Feb 2025. Keep an eye on the "Detachment Merchandise Only" forum for more information. FISD Attachés Keep an eye out in the Attaché forum for an announcement. Click Here "2nd Annual DMBO Sale" Last but not least, the 2nd Annual DMBO sale thread is open. Just like last year, I posted up the extra items that I have saved through out the term, and I'm offering them for sale. But there is a catch. This is not a first come first serve type deal. You post the items you like along with your FISD approval date. If your date is after the original run date, you go to the top of the list, if your date is before the original run date, you go to the end (you should have been watching the forum for runs). More details can be found here As always, questions, comments, thoughts, suggestions, please feel free to reach out. With Unquestioned Loyalty James Silvius TK-12953 "jsilvius" Merchandise & Branding Officer OK so you look at your Legion profile and it shows that your detachment affiliation to FISD is pending, or otherwise incorrect. Why does this happen, and what is detachment affiliation anyway, and what will FISD do about it? The answer is that detachment affiliation is only ever used once a year, and for one purpose. The only time the Legion ever uses it for anything is to determine who can run for DL and who can vote in detachment elections. That's it. Otherwise it is pretty much ignored and not used for anything. The process of validating detachment membership is cumbersome and time consuming because people use different email information between their Legion and detachment logins, and that there is no way to bulk update the rosters. For a small detachment it is not a big deal to do this manually, but for a detachment the size of FISD with hundreds and soon thousands of 501st members, it's impossible. Fortunately we have technical folk both on FISD and in the Legion web team. Once a year they take a feed from FISD's database and do a bulk update on the Legion database. This occurs right before the election cycle starts and is done once per year. Pro tips: 1) Ensure the email address you use on the Legion & FISD boards are the exact same. 2) Ensure that your FISD profile has the correct TKID. 3) IMPORTANT! You MUST be in the right security group. It should be "501st Stormtrooper" in order for the automated system to pull you over. This thread is where you get your detachment access updated. 4) If after the bulk update is complete and your profile is still not updated, and you are 100% sure your info is in sync between the two boards, then ask for to the Legion web team. They should get feedback on why this isn't working. 5) If all else fails, ping the FISD staff. Which basically means that we'll simply tell the 501st web team to bulk approve everyone 6) If still you have no luck you can contact the legion web team directly via email: [email protected] To check detachment affiliation go to the 501st holocron here, login using your 501st forum username and password, click on YOUR PROFILE DATA, then look down the lower part of the page for YOUR UNIT AFFILIATION, then under DETACHMENT AFFILIATION. If you do not see FISD listed reach out to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they can add it if you are an approved Stormtrooper. If FISD shows as PENDING contact our DL Chris @themaninthesuitcase and request a manual update. 2025 Legion Election Timeline It's coming up to that time of the year again, legion elections are just around the corner. With Unquestioned Loyalty Jonatan Östling TK-23592 "Nairy" Attaché Ambassador Master Armorer Program FISD has many wonderful programs to help members build and submit costumes for our detachment, whether it be a classic Stormtrooper, a First Order Stormtrooper, or even one of the new Imperial Armored Commandos. While our Expect Infantry and Centurion programs get most of the attention, FISD staff wants to relaunch the Armorer Program (Currently called the Master Armorer Program). What is the Armorer Program you ask? Well, it is a program designed to recognize those troopers that go above and beyond to assist themselves and others in getting costumes built, submitted, and approved. One of the goals of all the detachments in the 501st Legion is to help members build and submit costumes that meet and hopefully exceed the minimum requirements of the Legion’s CRLs. Currently the Master Armorer program has the requirement of helping a minimum of 5 members achieve Expert Infantry status. The member must have spent at least 30min physically helping another member with cutting, gluing, sizing, etc, just because they want to help (no money exchanged). The definition of an armorer is “a maker, supplier, or repairer of weapons or armor”. So while we certainly love the feedback that members provide to others on the forums, and the extra steps some do by having video calls to help walk people through issues with their builds, this program requires hands on work. The new program will have the same physical help requirement, but we are going to move from a “wins” system, (where a win was help an individual for 30 min or more) to a points system, and we aren’t limiting it to only Expert Infantry builds. While we are pushing the Advance to 1500 to try and achieve 1500 Expert Infantry members, we recognize that the goal of the detachment is to get FISD members build, submitted, and approved. So we will be awarding points for Basic builds as well. Currently there are 3 levels of the award, FISD Armorer, FISD Senior Armorer and FISD Master Armorer. The new program will add a 4th level at the beginning called the Apprentice Armorer. The point scale will be as follows. 5 points - Apprentice Armorer 10 points - Armorer 20 points - Senior Armorer 30 points - Master Armorer The Armorer candidate would earn points based on what level the member costume they assisted with achieved. If you help with a basic build, you get 1 point, if you help with a EIB build you get 2 points. So a person to basic you get a point, help them again to get their EIB earning another 2 to a total of 3. The thought again here is that we want to help build as many stormtroopers as possible. If you love building armorer and love helping fellow members get their costumes built, then this is the program you’ve been searching for. We look forward to awarding more members with this award as we know how much we all love Troopers helping Troopers. More information can be found here Armorer Rocker Patches Rocker patches are now available for the Armorer Program, there is currently just the one patch, and members are eligible to receive two of them once they reach Level 2, "Armorer". More information can be found here Want to setup a "Fire Team? the Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion Stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here. For those interested here is the original discussion on the creation of Fire teams here With Unquestioned Loyalty Mark Ryner TK-4584 "captsafe66" Fire Team Relations So what exactly are and levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Questions about fitting, repairs, CRL standards/requirements or anything pertaining to reaching Levels 2 and 3 are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Keep in mind that no question is too small, and that your queries will only be seen by the D.O. Staff. We are here to help in any way we can, so please feel free to send us a message by clicking on this link: @Deployment Officer Team and we will get back to you A.S.A.P.! 21. Here's a good reference of the ribs
  22. You can also increase size an area of leather, first dampen the inside, use a dowel or some other item just larger height than the area needing to stretch, force the dowel/tool into place, ;eave to dry, you can also add some heat from the outside which can also soften the leather, then leave for a few days. I did run across this stretcher on Aliexpress which you can add pieces to help stretch specific areas
  23. Looking good. I have found with some tube the rubber can be soft and can fold/crimp when it is bent but if you add a piece of wire inside it will help to keep the shape, you may not need this but just in case
