  1. I ballsed up my first thigh ammo belt trying to heat bend it in the oven....sanded the tips of my mic tips down so the mesh had nothing to sit on,...and not TK related,..but I once glued the scope of my doopydoos DL-44 on backwards. Honestly,..it's a wonder I can even dress myself in the morning!
  2. Keep meaning to apply for Cent myself,...maybe when I lose a bit of Xmas weight I gained,..can't get my thigh's as high as I'd like because of my fat butt!!Need to redo my lower ab buttons too...the belt has worn the paint away!
  3. So last weekend our Garrison had a wee troop in a Forest Park. Being a ROTJ TK,...how could I resist??!! I know the ROTJ isn't all that popular, with some thinking it is as ugly as sin, but in it's natural habitat I think it's a thing of beauty! All pics taken by our Garrison friend Owen Quinn.
  4. I agree with BJ;it's pretty cool being different(it's also really easy to find yourself in group shots!) The one piece butt/kidney isn't uncomfortable,at least in my case, but it can look pretty bad depending on your pose.Hunched over,in a firing pose, mine has a habit of sticking straight out at a weird angle.(it also doesn't help that I have a fat butt!) You can sort of see what I mean in this pic: Glad to see the 'ugly stepchild' of the TK family getting some more love.
  5. You sir are a star! Thanks so much. If you are ever in my neck of the woods, I'm buying you a drink! I'll pm him now.
  6. Coming from a collectors background(and with a wallet which is constantly weeping!) I would personally try to keep it simple, and focus solely on the 5 standard white movie lids. If I were to add in the likes of modded lids, like Neyo/Cody,etc,.then I'd also be compelled to go and get a TKC,INC,Shadowtrooper,ARC Trooper, every version of a Clone, a McQ, an animated, etc, etc. I hate being a completionist! EDIT: I only counted 5 movie lids,..I should have listed 6.I forgot the ANH Hero!d'oh!!)
  7. Righty,..but ROTJ Troopers seemed to have all abandoned the lefty stance of the ANH guys.
  8. Cheers lads. I am guessing an ESB holster is the way to go? I want to wear it on my right, looped over my TIE belt. Damn shame, having to lop off a good portion of a perfectly good holster. Are there no vendors making specific SE-14R holsters?
  9. Hi folks.Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a good quality holster suitable for my SE-14R. It's not so much for trooping with my TK, but more for my TI. I usually troop it with a DL-44, but we have another cleared TI in my garrison, with three more on the way,who are all rocking the same armour kit and blaster as me. Yup, I want to be different!(and also easily identifiable!) Thought I would ask here, rather than over on JRS as the SE-14R is more a TK sidearm. Thanks lads!
  10. I like it. Bit of a Tron vibe, yes,.but i love that they kept the classic elements of a TK lid-traps,tears,frown,tube stripes-but evolved them. Bit too glossy for my tastes, hopefully the on screen ones will have a little scuffing/dirtying up,..but I'm happy. Now let's see some 'TIE' goodness!
  11. Another CFO ROTJ TK? Awesome! Best of luck with the build!
  12. I'm the only CFO thus far,.... It's lonely down here by myself,...
  13. Would it be possible to get CFO added to the list of makers, rather than having to choose 'other'?
  14. Might have to jump on the ferry and get a pic with you guys. A wee British Isles ROTJ fireteam!
  15. I've always been partial to the background characters of SW. My favourite figures were never Luke or Obi-Wan or Vader. They were always Walrus man,Hammerhead, other obscure characters. When I got into trooping, my first was a Gunner.Virtually no screentime! TIE came next, again very little screentime.Long Snoot,..he has about 4 seconds! When I decided to do a TK,..well I just had to choose the least popular! The 'ugliness' of the ROTJ grows on you,......eventually!
  16. Thanks buddy. It was constant striving for absolute accuracy that put the idea in my head, so all credit goes to you!
  17. Howdy folks. Before I donned the white plastic, I had a few other costumes I trooped as. Just thought I'd share them here. My first build was a Gunner. Lid is MC, bib was made by woopdeedo over on the IGC boards.Blaster is a doopys full resin kit. Next came my TI. Bucket and armour are MC again,..everything else is the Gunner! I usually rock either a doopys DL-44, or occasionaly one of Shawn's SE-14R's. After that, i started to think outside the box,..and decided to do Garindan/Long Snoot/Imperial Spy. He's always been one of my favourite aliens. Always gets a good reaction from the public. Absolute bugger to wear though! Boots,gloves,belt,...guess where they came from? Yup, the TI and IG..Cloak was made by a local seamstress. The 'sherlock' style mini-cape is seperate and detachable from the main cloak. the mask I commissioned from good friend, and(if he ever gets round to submitting his TK!!) fellow trooperhttps://www.facebook.com/Chrisstephenscreations It's a full head, latex mask with acrylic lenses for the goggles. And is bloody hot! Even in our modest climate! And finally I got in on the act and went TK. CFO armour, custom blaster. Always have fun TK-ing. Funny how different costumes bring out different aspects of your personality, isn't it?! Thanks for looking guys!
  18. If you'd asked me this a few years ago,..I probably would have said I preferred the idealized, symmetrical 'perfect' look. Over the years however, i've come to embrace the wonkiness, the poor build quality, the rough edges( hence why I built a ROTJ TK!!) I wouldn't go so far as adding tape, or 'chipped paint' to my suit, if I were to ever do ANH, but fair play to those that do. As for how the public see us,..I've trooped in my (some would say poorly built by me!) CFO alongside a taped up RSProps TK and a couple of FX armours and modded MR lids and no one has ever passed judgement on the differences between us all. The only comments that are made are usually down to height, girth or shape of the person wearing the suit...
  19. Even if he does, he doesn't ship outside the US I got lucky and got my hands on a custom made one. Good luck in your search, the ROTJ blaster is the most difficult area of the whole build.
  20. Looks good to me! I bolted the faceplate to the back/crown and then glued the ears over the top, using E-6000. So far no issues.
  21. Wow,.I surprised it's that few! Well, I guess organising a group shot at the next Celebration shouldn't be too hard.......
  22. I've seen this in person,..very nice.Good job. Gonna need to get started on that flamethrower build next!!! I wonder which is more popular,..the solo INC or the solo ROTJ?
  23. I think it gives us a good idea of the answer! Thanks man! Yours is fab looking. I only used a wee bit of black rubber lid trim to take the shine off and give a little grubbiness to the armour. Then I went for a walk through a local woodland for that authentic muddy boot look! Got some strange looks from a few dog walkers! Current total of ROTJ troopers stands at 2!
