  1. Where abouts in NI are you from matey? I'm in Antrim myself. Feel free to give us a buzz via our boards or fb page if you want any local help.
  2. To play devil's advocate for a second,..maybe Felix's GML is being a little too faithful to the ROTJ CRL,..which uses a non-ROTJ kit as the pictured model. With the ANH sharpness to the sculpt, and a much whiter plastic I can sort of see where some confusion could arise. Perhaps we should see about updating the pics in that CRL to accurately reflect a ROTJ(ie CFO) style trooper?
  3. Felix...as a ROTJ TK(EIB) AND my garrisons GML I would have zero issue with passing your costume. It's a great build..there is nothing that should be hampering your approval(although,I must ask are your boot soles painted white? I can't make them out). Agreed with what has already been said-if your GML doesn't reconsider..go above his head.
  4. The more I read this..the more I am dreading ordering one of these kits! Took me two years to finish my current tk...and it's a doodle compared to this!
  5. I'm in a similar situation. With so many of us going from my home garrison,we are looking into the different ways of getting there. And that will be afactor into which cossie I bring with. It would be great to see a squad of ROTJ melty heads! I've only seen pics of two trooping together...
  6. How many of us are planning on attending Celebration Europe? It would be nice to try and get a group shot of ROTJ TKs...
  7. Looking at those pics of the kidney and ab plates....are folk like me who have a bit of a belly going to run into issues? If I were to try and get them to sit as nicely as they look in that pic...my chest plate would need to be about 4 inches in front of my body to maintain the look.
  8. What an utter tossbag. Sorry to hear this man.
  9. It sucks royally, buy yeah, unfortunately it is the norm to wait ungodly lengths of time. It will be worth it in the end though!
  10. Just found out, that according to our spiffy new members database..there are 31 of us cleared in the Legion!
  11. Looking sharp! i had similar concerns with my thighs. I have skinny legs, but a 'generous' rear, so couldn't get my thighs to go as high as I'd have liked, but yours look OK to me. Plenty of the onscreen guys had more black showing above the thigh pieces. The 'cover strip' on your left(as worn) leg looks a bit wide.I think you could trim the thighs a bit more, get them looking a little more tapered. The elastic strap on your shoulderbell looks a bit too wide too. ROTJ TKs had a much skinnier strap than their predecessors.
  12. Mine is super boring. Growing up with a few siblings anytime I played a videogame,I always used my real name as my save file. That stuck with me long after we all grew up and moved away from each other. When I got my first online games console(Xbox360) I followed suit and again just used my name.It was taken, so I just stuck 1138 on the end. Been my gamertag ever since, and screenname for any messageboards afterwards. I have about a half dozen other usernames for boards I had signed upto before then...
  13. On the topic of codpieces..I've never been asked to receive a punch there, but I once had a ghastly 'woman'(I use the term loosely!) reach up inside of it for a squeeze...*shudder*
  14. This is where good crew/spotters/support people come into play.Open faced troopers too. They will be your eyes and ears and should be able to stop anyone messing about back there. I myself also wear my belt pretty tight,so should anyone tug or mess about with the TD I will feel it. You just have to try and remain vigilant if your crew are otherwise incapacitated. Periodically check for it yourself, stand with your back against a wall,..little things like that.
  15. Unless you are a Sandie,a Clone or a Gunner, I am not a fan of pauldrons. But,....seeing as realistic versions of animated Clones are (currently) clearable, wouldn't it be fair to also allow realistic versions of animated TKs, like the pauldron guys?
  16. Yes I know what it's for,..but on all the screencaps i viewed when building mine, the butt plate had no visable snaps;ie like the crotch it was seemingly glued to the inside.. Very easy to see on the poor guy who gets thrown head first over Han's shoulder. Infact, the CRL states no visible snaps to be used, There seems to have been some serious variety in how the original suits were put together...
  17. Great pcs! I notice in pic 2 and 3,..no sign of any rivets on the front of the shoulder bridges. Seems some suits had them,..some didn't.Perhaps on location repairs? Also,..what's with the visible snap on the butt plate? First time i've seen that.... 30years later,..and we're stil finding out new things!
  18. While I agree wholeheartedly that bullying is intolerable, I (perhaps playing devils advocate here)wonder if these guys who are bullying even realise it? Perhaps they believe they are just gently ribbing the new guy? If they are genuinely mocking the guys rocking BrandX armour, then they need a kick up the hole(to use an Irish expression!) and told to wise up.It's inexcusible. Maybe it's a cultural thing,..but we are forever taking the pee out of each other in our garrison,..usually it's me on the receiving end because of my 'differently beautiful' ROTJ, but it's nothing more than banter. It's meant to be taken lightly, and everyone from the RS guys, the FX guys and the CFO guy takes it in good humour,..and dishes out as much as they get.Nobody takes the pee out of me more than me! These guys who are being hurtful..have they been appraoched and spoken to? The best way to counter ignorance is to educate...
  19. I agree with that point on covering the bottom buttons,..however...I would check with your GML just to be sure. I rivetted my belt on like at(as it appeared like that in most ref material I could find at the time) but when it came to clearance, the LMO at the time(we were a new Outpost then, with all cossie submissions being passed up the ladder) requested the belt be lowered and not to obscure them.Luckily there was some give in my belt,so it could be twisted down ever so slightly to show the buttons. As an aside, I would also like to point out that many ROTJ troopers had unpainted buttons, which is something that I think should be part of the crl. Along with an 'optional' status for the thermal det. Lots of those missing too!
  20. Hey Ryan. Where abouts are you from? Any questions feel free to ask away; you'll be in armour in no time!
  21. I think I used about a tube and a half of e6000 on my build...but I was quite generous with it in some areas! It was the only glue I used in the entire build. My dining room still has a faint aroma about it,..two years later!
  22. I just have my lid padded with foam. Had a large square of it,..only needed a small amount to pad the shoulder bells, so used some of the excess in my helmet. Been meaning to replace it with a proper hardhat liner for ages now(because sweaty foam is stanky!!lol) so can't help you there sorry.
  23. Regards the shoulder bridges,..i myself am still unconvinced they were rivetted on. i know the tour suit has rivets,..but I haven't been convinced yet about the on set ones. I myself glued mine to the chest, and put a little velcro on the backplate to hold them in place. The armour trim, I measured, cut to length and then glued down as I put it on. The butt piece in particular is a pain! You are flying through this so far. great work!
  24. Hey Rob. Have you signed up to our forums yet? Plenty of us TKs knocking about this wee island willing and able to get you sorted!
  25. Great progress so far mate! Remember, you don't have to worry about being super neat and tidy when trimming the torso pieces-the rubber edging hides all that anyway. Mine looked shocking! Look forward to seeing another ROTJ TK....it's quite the exclusive club!
