  1. As this my 100th post thought I'd share this, just received yesterday my new deactivated Sterling mk IV L2A3. And these are some of the component pieces I'm looking to dress it with. I'm looking to make the scope rail and counter bracket in such a way that I can interchange these. M40 1942 (vern I still have another 1943 set aside) M38 1943 Eagles I'm currently trying to work out the best possible way as how to make the rail so that this will be possible. Here are some of my thoughts on this process... the ramblings of a madman For the Hengstler counters the idea here is to use an angled bracket piece of plate 'L' shaped, similar to that used on fence posts etc I figure when it is bent to shape it would hold the Hengstler in the correct position, and can be secured to the Hengstler by clamping the bracket between the metal connection box and the triangular plastic piece at the back. Hopefully this makes sense of my description Some scribbles re the rail itself Now some questions. I saw a really nice picture posted by Jesse some while back of Han Solo carrying the blaster, in it the rail looked to be pretty narrow, and the feet of the M19 on it appear to be wider. What size width would people recommend this should be? With regards to the spacing between the Hengstler and the barrel of the Blaster what would be a typical space/gap or should the Hengstler rest on the Barrel itself? When the rail is passed into the front/last (depending which way you look) vent hole on the barrel how are you securing the rail at this point, is the rail simply bent back under? And at the back by the sight itself should the rail be secured with the sight in the vertical or horizontal position, as from what I can see this would have a definite baring on the hight of the rail?
  2. Got my Sterling through today, Its not an old spec deactivation but has the moving slide, and also has slight trigger movement. Can someone please put up some pictures showing exactly how the rail should be attached either end. I want to pass the rail into the last/first vent hole (depending which way you look down the barrel) and screw the rail into the back so I can detach it. I think I've worked out a nice solution to enable me to interchange the counters/scopes on the rail without actually having to resort to removing it so I can configure it in many ways, but only time will tell.
  3. Not having a Velcro strap would be cool. Don't have any armor but have a couple of nice lids and neck piece and think this would make all this difference.
  4. All I can say is that as long as you keep to the spinach you'd be fine. (eh Popeye). Toot-toot.
  5. Not only that I think he ships using a Lead Coffin.
  6. I think the guys casting them at the mo using wrought iron.
  7. Saw this item on eBay Item and wasn't sure anyone else had done so. I simply love it. Check out the shipping costs, and reason behind it. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
  8. I'd go as far as suggesting Sand troopers don't have them at all, check out this Image
  9. Got the Force Unleashed, thats okay, but I kept getting beaten by my 6 year old son (seems to know all the button combo's off the back of his hand) not being a competitive father I gave it up Currently at 97% on the Lego Clone Wars game on the PS3, beating him there
  10. The line up of the holes looks a little odd to me, but then I've never modified one of these. Vern put a lovely template of the layout in this Topic to see what I mean.
  11. I can verify that the M40 1942 variant is identical also to the M38s of the same year, in shape.
  12. These appear to be similar British monocular British monocular B&S CF 28A 7 x 42 1953/54 no: 108248 The B&S CF 28A is a porro II prism monocular with 7 times magnification and a 42mm objective lens. Its field of view is 127yds/1000ft. or 7ƂĀ°18'. The patent number 572537 engraved at the top of the prism box tells us that there is " a thin sheet of a transparent flexible material" between the prism elements (s. W.Reid's book "We're certainly ....", p. 168). Also the field lens is cemented to the prism. other monocular Does anyone know what scopes these are on the e-11 for sure?
  13. Easier still, I guess you could have drilled two holes one at either end and passed coping saw blade through and simply cut the bulk out?
  14. Did you have to remove all the trimming to get it to hold? It looks quite similar to the lining I have inside my MR LE lid, though I'd never mess with that. I had up to now thought about using a strap from one of these things: Strimmer Visor They come off real easy and have a ratchet on the strap. The one I have fits okay inside, but would need gluing. Thing is I don't troop, or at least not yet as I don't possess armor I had been thinking this would add to the MRCE as a display piece perhaps? That said, Ken anything you could say about the fitting process of these would certainly help me make my mind up about the time and hassle of doing this mod.
  15. Does it help with the fit? At the moment I've got a ratchet style head brace which will fit inside the lid, and which obviously does stop the wobble a wee bit.
  16. Stumbled on this when I was looking on eBay earlier: eBay Link Has anyone ever brought one of these and does it truly fit the MRCE? If anyone has any pictures that would be great.
  17. Does anyone have any real nice pics of this type of configuration on their blaster, also is there a template which lays out exactly where to put the holes for the scope?
  18. Thanks Brian. my knowledge of the expanded universe is pretty much non existent. If it were something from the OT I'd have a chance.
  19. Can someone tell me where did the Shadow trooper spawn from. They seem to be growing in popularity, but have no idea what started this all?
  20. I think Paul nailed it with that. This link is pretty good, and details a few world wide smg type armaments. If you look under Japan there are a few variants of this type 96 which all look very similar. -----------
  21. Gaines On a serious note the shape is similar to this French gun, MAT 49 9mm SMG.: ----------
  22. Not sure about that, I ran a direct comparison with my sons Lego blaster collection, and I think they have far too much detail for that: ---------
  23. What I don't understand is this. Why is it that the 501st have such a loose view on the blaster, but on items such as the helmet it is far more stringent, and by this I mean why can you not use an MRCE in its untampered state and which is actually a very nice lid and in view that they would like to encourage larger membership?
