  1. Looks like he might need to empty his mail box. lol
  2. Yes, a shim, as Kevin describes, is worth trying before replacing the entire pieces.
  3. If you want to make one just for fun, go for it, but I have to agree, it would be both expensive, and very difficult to make one that's accurate enough for 501st approval.
  4. I don't have any opinion on his TK armor, but his Imperial Navy Trooper helmets are inaccurate. He makes them like the prototype, & not the ones seen on film.
  5. Nothing is really hidden here. It's all in the "Types of armor..." thread. Just avoid eBay. lol. Oh, and there have been some heated discussions about recasting in the past. It just isn't a hot topic as of late.
  6. If you are a super accurate master-sculptor & do this kind of work all the time, you might have a good opportunity of sculpting & casting your own armor, but if you just plan to make a suit for just yourself, you might want to consider pre-existing options. AP & TM are both very nice makes of armor with relatively short wait time. Read up about them on this forum & do a lot of research before you spend money on any kit.
  7. Lookin' sharp there, Jon. Might be just the picture, but looks like your sandy buddy went nuts with the rivet gun on his armor.
  8. Here's some good Zam info too http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/zam-wesell-costume/
  9. I get that they are using the Maquarrie concepts for many of the designs that will be included, but I am yet to see anything either original or true to the likeness it's supossed to represent. So far we've previewed concept TKs, concept spaceships, and bad guy who looks like Tion Medon Cosplaying Darth Bane. I hope the actual "Rebel" characters are a bit more interesting.
  10. Congrats, Michael! And yeah. Centurion is hard for a reason. Otherwise it would be called "basic acceptance". lol...
  11. Well, I've done both; built new kits & had to mod old ones, & while I totally agree, going through the motions of modding an old kit absolutely builds character, it was way smoother to just do it to my own measurements from the ground up.
  12. Honestly, I'd put it right back on eBay & use that money to get an ATA kit. Fixing up a used & outdated suit is always more work than it's worth.
  13. I wish! I consider myself moderately experienced w/armor, but 6-8 hrs? Hahahahahahaha......
  14. He can get one of these http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23949-cap-helmet-kit-run/ Much better than an FX.
  15. Nice! Looks like you had some fun there!
  16. Well, there is no screen-accurate holster for them anyway, so just tuck them in your chest plate or leave them on our Wookiee prisoners.
  17. I've seen a few people torn over it. Some say it's meant for larger troopers, but I don't think so. I think it might be slightly bigger, but not FX bigger. Some say it's easy to put together. Possibly. Possibly not. Maybe just the bucket. I have read on more than a few occasions that the helmet is not worth it & a more s screen-accurate one is preferred. I've seen at least one newbie in the GML forum have trouble getting it approved & I thought it wasn't too horrible.
  18. Nice to see a decent helmet on eBay for a change. lol...
  19. If you really want to go TD, you need to shoot for that specifically first. TD's have subtle differences that need attention to be accurate. You are lucky that Squad 7 has the 5 best TDs in the Garrison, Me, Haloes, Missing Pieces, Amp, & Stoles. I can definitely help with assembly & weathering. If you plan on staying TK, you have me, Wolfgar, Shutter, & Missing Pieces (He's a huge help) to assist you. Just let us know when you get your kit.
