  1. Here? As in FISD? Either way I stand my my point that the eFX is not worth the trouble. Maybe if you get it for under $50 but not else.
  2. I'm sure you could fill the holes in the knee belt with abs-paste and just sand it smooth. No one would notice.
  3. Sounds like you got things under control then. Give the knee belt another go with the glue. Maybe CA glue would be better in this case.
  4. Great build so far! I recommend putting some glue behind the knee belt to fix it to the front of the thigh, thus keeping it from tilting down. I also suggest putting snaps in the ab plate and the belt to keep it from sagging.
  5. Remember the crotch strap to keep that but plate under control.
  6. That's what happens if you put the sniper knee on a right-hand leg and try to wear it as a left-hand leg.
  7. While the originals are indeed trimmed very sloppy, it is obvious that the intention was to have no flash above or below the boxes of the knee belt.
  8. Having straps across the shoulder bell keeps it from flopping around if you move your arms up and down. Also, it's screen accurate. Thanks for considering my suggestions! Oh, and would you mind telling me more about the helmet details? Are those decals or do you just have a really steady hand? The lines in the tears (picture of rear trapezoids is too blurry to tell) are very very straight.
  9. Hi Did you have elastic straps across the shoulder bells? You never said in your EIB thread. I would suggest you get that if you haven't, and that you move the knee belt further down, so the rivets are attached to the raised edge at the bottom of the thigh (and rivets positioned in the corners of the knee belt). Those things may not be in the requirements of Centurion, but I'd would be more confident in approving you if you did. I believe, and I think you do too, that Centurion should also mean going above and beyond, leading by example. Apart from that, I think this will be easy. It's a great armour you've put together.
  10. Sorry to disappoint but when you had the chance you should have trimmed the top and bottom of the knee belt so it stops at the top and bottom of the boxes. The position looks a lot better now though.
  11. Could you complete this thread with the other photos? You can copy them from your EIB thread if you want.
  12. Yes, that's normal for accurate helmets. That's how the originals are.
  13. ---------- CFO is as good as ROTJ armour gets.
  14. This. Of course you are free to do what you want. The problem is that unless we educate people, they will assume that what you did is the correct way to do it. You may know it's wrong and did it intentionally, but further down the line someone else comes and thinks it's the correct way of doing it. Therein lies the problem.
  15. How is 125 USD for a A-grade screen linage kit less than the eFX? I just did a check on ebay and could not find it for less than 180 USD. Add to that the cost of material and labor to make the mods. You might think that it's cheap and high quality, but the math doesn't add up here when you look it from a less personal point-of-view.
  16. Sorry if we're being hard on you, but it's a bad habit to look at other replicas when making your own so sometimes we have to put down a foot to save the others. It's not personal, nor directed to you. See this as a public service announcement. The pictures you posted are indeed of original armour, except the last two. But you knee belt isn't mounted the same way. If you have good reference material, you also need to follow it. Some of the pictures in the gallery I posted above, including the image I posted were not available to the common public long ago. In fact people paid good money to see them. But now they are out in the free and it would be very un-wise, borderline rude, not to use them. If only to not keep the cycle of mistakes from repeating by doing what others have done before - Making replicas of other replicas. It's like that whisper game where you tell someone something, and they re-tell it to the next person. The further you go, the more distorted the message gets.
  17. Ah. That narrows your choices a bit. I don't think you'll fit in TM or RS without excessive shimming then, even if you are built on the muscular side.
  18. Yes you can, Faie did it. Sadly the picture is really small, but see his Centurion application. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=17942
  19. You shouldn't use others costumes as reference to your own (or you may just end up making the same mistakes they did). Inspiration is fine, but not as reference. Try looking at original suits instead. Here are some links to reference pictures: http://s381.photobuc...5/LFL%20Photos/ http://forum.whitear...showtopic=10786 http://s880.photobuc...%20screenshots/ Here's how the real deal looks like:
  20. Why did you put one of the rivets and the end of the knee belt higher than the other side?
  21. They need quite a lot of work before they are acceptable. It's easier to start from a kit instead. Cheaper too in most cases. And yes, the MRCE and eFX are exactly the same helmet.
  22. Good work there buddy! On my EE-3 I've been building I've used E-6000, super glue and hot glue for different parts and purposes. Has turned out pretty good I think.
  23. Happy birthday!
