  1. that is quite the soap opera discussion with a lot of open possibilities that don't seem to REALLY come to a solid conclusion.
  2. So the armor was pulled in the 1.5MM, were ALL the helmets other than the Hero helmets in HDPE and painted?
  3. It was brought up in a conversation and I just want to be clear on things. I know that the sandtroopers were the first to be filmed and all the helmets were done in the Khaki HDPE and painted. I also know that the Hero TK helmets were done in ABS to maintain the clean look. Was all the armor pulled in ABS?? Was there another white plastic they were pulled in then painted like styrene? None of the archive photos of the armor show any paint chipping with Khaki underneath though it still kinda looks painted. We are never too old to learn.
  4. If you have a number, you have status
  5. Karin has always suggested to use Loctite for plastics with the primer pen. It is basically superglue with a pen that super cleans both surfaces for a really tight bond
  6. Negative to the flat rate. MANY of the items that Trooperbay offers are on the small side. I just bought two $3 dollar patches. Why would I want $6 in patches to be $16?? As for saving for larger packages, decide what constitutes a "larger package" and flat rate that and find out what the smaller packages are and flat rate those. $4.99 for small ones, $9.99 big ones
  7. Nice work so far. Just to check, your drop boxes on your belt are sitting too far to the center. They need to sit even with the outside edge of the belt. On your photo series of the main torso pieces, make sure you connect the kidney with that little 90 degree nook at the bottom. You have it pictured upside down.
  8. Wow...brilliant. Such a pleasure to look at!
  9. That looks just like an RS suit. So more RS recasting???
  10. Are you sure that's a TE suit???
  11. Yeah...It's the Lucasfilm approved Rubies armor
  12. YOU are an example of what this legion is all about!!! It's an honor to know you!!

    NE on ebay

IT originally stood for "No Excuses" Why? No one knew.
  14. Alright Vern.................what is it?
  15. Great work, Rob!!! Now get yourself some correct mic tips and some rank bars on the ears and you are set!!! That weapon, though, is just not acceptable. In fact, it is so awful I will PM you my address so you can send it to me for proper disposal
  16. The return edge is any change in direction (usually 90 degrees) from the surface of the armor piece. Return edges were given to the armor to give the appearance of thickness without adding weight or bulk to the armor. On your pic, make sure you line up the elbow portion and trim the wrist portion. Why this is so much longer is a mystery. You will have NO return edge on your wrist. Trim out even in the ridge made by the dent detail on top. There are many fantastic RS builds on here......never stop looking at these builds and doing your research!!! All your questions will be answered there. But ask away with lots of pics. Helping family is what the FISD does best
  17. The only known armor prior to the FX and the earliest TE 1 was Marco. Even Marco was closer than that. Innovative, though
  18. You are doing a great job. Your location/placement is fine. The outline is very borderline on thick. I definitely would NOT go ANY thicker.
  19. There are too many things to list. Every armor has it's distinguishable traits. Only by looking at hundreds of build threads and/or building them does one become familiar with these traits. It is a testament to the phrase: "Never stop doing your research!" One day you might find one of those sets of armor in your house.
  20. Heat up a nail and drag it across the cut line of your elastic. Trim off the fray first. It will prevent it from fraying further
  21. MTK and ATA are almost identical kits. If you have done any research and looked into ATA, MTK will fit you.
  22. I got hold of him on FB. He already got back to me. Awesome young man
  23. I will give that a shot, thanks!
  24. I sent Paul a message and it didn't go through. If Paul reads this or anyone close to him does, could you please have him contact me. Thank you.
  25. Outstanding work, sir. Following this with great interest!
