  1. Good option for a very reasonable price. My Imperial Warfighters one is an older version now, but still pretty good. His newer ones have a more accurate magazine amongst other improvements. Below is my Doopys Vs Imperial Warfighters. :-)

  3. There's a big difference, actually. While the principle of using nylon webbing may sound more practical, it gives zero stretch and limits your movement in armour. Not only that, the zero stretch means it will pop your snaps or crack your armour when you move around too much. I know some people use webbing exclusively but I would strongly advise against it and use elastic instead. If you use quality elastic it will last a long time and if you have to swap it out eventually, so be it.

  4. Time for a new project! I've always liked the look of the SE-14R so I decided it was time to make one of my own. I also wanted something with lights and sounds, as my Hyperfirm has none, but didn't want to put a lot of time or effort into doing so. I started of by printing this blaster: THINGIVERSE ----------- I've had to modify a few parts to allow for adding electronics. I bought a cheap blaster from the dollar store that I plan to transplant into this blaster: After opening it up (and tossing the housing) I am left with a speaker, an LED diode and a battery pack (which I cut out of the plastic handle): Now that I knew what I had to work with, it's time to start modifying the print files. First I had to make room for batteries in the magazine receiver, which was easily accomplished with a dremel and some Apoxie Sculpt: I did the same to the frame, so I can wire in the circuit board and a toggle switch for the trigger (not pictured, sorry!). The LED diode will sit at the end of the barrel (may see if I can easily swap in a larger/brighter one without having to redo everything - I'm going for a no-frills, budget approach to lights and sound!), and I figured I would put the speaker at the other end. To do so, the end cap must be modified to make room for the speaker. It will also need a grille for sound to escape: I plan on covering the opening with speaker cloth, but even so, I couldn't help myself. Another thing I had to do was print the barrel in two parts and glue them together (used a piece of plastic rod to reinforce the joint): I also picked up the correct scope off of eBay for $8 (also pictured is some other stuff, new build thread coming soon!): Hoping to get the new end cap printed up tonight, figure out where I need to drill holes in the barrel/frame for wires, and then I should be good-to-go with sanding/filling/priming.

Troopers changed with time to spare and the local governor in charge of the facility did an ID check and we were briefed on the activities of the night. We had out at 5:33pm with imperial precision. An advanced trooper was out scouting ahead as we arrived to the area of operation. Pincer flight was out in force as the local governor had displayed the local TIE fighter. Lord Vader and guard was a hit with the local populace. Rebel forces were kept to a minimum. Juno Eclipse standing by Vader wooing the crowds and shaking the tin for charity. TIE pilots and reserves headed to the TIE fighter to pose for photos with the stunned crowd who were amazed at our brilliance. Stormtroopers and Sandtroopers were under cover patrolling the main concourse and keeping the peace. A patrol of the area was carried out several times interacting with the lines of people entering the imperial establishment. Around 8pm it was starting to drop off in activity so TIE pilots left the stormtrooper, sandtrooper and Juno and few others to finish off the evening. 6. I started building my TFA Phasma out of steel in September (?) 2016 after seeing the “Silver Stormtrooper” in the movie, and knowing the character was female. I was going to make a kit supplied by Shawn Thorsson, but noticed that I would have a major problem with inner thigh chafing that would make a Chrome paint job a real issue. I have a background in blacksmithing and making wearable suits of armor out of steel, so I thought to use my knowledge base to make my own Phasma. My biggest issues have been that there are no templates for this suit (or there weren’t when I got started), so I have had to create EVERY part of this suit first out of a paper template, and then cut it out of steel and make it as accurately as I can. The other issue I have is that I am only able to work on this project a few hours a month (and my dad’s smithy is about 80 miles away from my house), so it has taken me almost 2 years to get where I am. I will post some (but definitely not all - I have tons) photos of my build, and I will try to have them in some organized manner. I’ll post the images mostly in the order that I made the pieces. ** right now I’m having a deuce of a time uploading ANY images, and I may have to try this post again at a later time [emoji20]

  7. Please move this to the forum that you think is most appropriate if this is not the right one. What is an LMO? The Legion Membership Team are responsible for reviewing and processing applications for membership, and maintaining and updating member information in the Legion database. The Legion Membership Officer drives costume policies, including acceptable costume types for membership and setting standards for costume submissions, and are the final arbiter of member costume issues and approvals. The Legion Membership Officer supervises and advises Detachments, Garrison Membership Liaisons, and Garrison Web Liaisons on any questions or issues they may have with members costumes. Have a question about membership these are the folks to talk to! (Ongoing) * Finishing 75% of unfinished CRLs: Supporting the detachments to find models and writing text for CRLs that are not yet green. (Q3) • Add galleries to every CRL: Increasing the use of detailed reference imagery in CRLs (Q3) • Create CRL Development Forums: Utilizing the legion forums for open and transparent development of new the legion CRLs.. (Q3) • Encouraging GML Feedback: Engaging the GMLs to ensure they know the LMO team is here to support them. Make formal efforts to receive feedback from GMLs about CRLs and the approval process. (Ongoing) • Regular Membership Surveys: We want to know what the members want. We serve the membership. (Ongoing) About Me My name is Dawn Bright and I am the LMO for the 501st Legion, ALMO with the Rebel Legion, I have previously served as XO of the Flagship Eclipse (501st) and the Senatorial Detachment (RL), GML of Southern California Garrison and a Legion Costume Judge (LCJ) for the Rebel Legion. I love making costumes (with an emphasis on EU and new to the legion), I have almost 60 (RL/501) Legion approved costumes. In my normal day to day life I am an Administrator of a care home for developmentally delayed adults in independent and inclusive living situations in sunny Southern California. I work with family's and social workers to establish communication between what the families and residents want for themselves to feel productive and able and I institute success for people in need. I'm a people person and as an LMO I put members first and foremost. People like you with passion for the costumes in this Detachment. We are all volunteers who have spent hundreds of dollars or/and hundreds of hours making costumes. I promise you that you will be treated with respect and deserve honest and efficient results. I look forward to serving you and working with this fine Detachment About the Team Michael Capell CT/SL/ID-3037 Timberline Garrison Michael has been an LMO and on the LMO Team for about a decade. He has done many things in the Legion since his wife told him she was joining and that he needed to as well. He has been the SLD Webmaster for ten years, as well as (over the years) been a GXO, GML, GWL, and GEC. He specializes in Clones, EU / Legends, Sith Lord costumes, and helping people where he can. He’s looking forward to another term helping expand our Costume Reference Library. Blair Douglas ID-12266 Midwest Garrison Blair is new to the LMO team but has served as a liaison for unity for the clubs for many years. She has LMO experience with the Rebel Legion and has led an effort in the RL around costume approval reform with a concentration on maintaining quality, improving consistency, and making approvals attainable. Her experience will help us address some of the current pain points within the 501st system. An additional bonus is that Blair is a lead software engineer by day helping to provide Fortune 500 companies technical solutions for their business needs. Her professional experience will also help us assess the current state of the systems supporting costume approvals and help to figure out how to improve them to facilitate a more positive costume approval experience. Fun fact Blair plays bass in the band Soft Speaker, extra fun fact she paid her way through college playing bass in a U2 tribute band and her nickname was Madame Clayton. Kris Kobus ID-33633 United Kingdom Garrison Kris is new to LMO but has held positions such as XO and DCA for the IOC and Events administrator for his Garrison where he is also a Officer costume adviser. Kris is a workaholic and does not believe in sleep so is usually always available no matter the time zone. Brian Anderson TK-7602 New England Garrison Brian has been the LMO team lead previously. He was one of the driving forces of Detachment empowerment and pushed for CRL changes. Brian has been on local staff and Detachment level staff for many years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Brian is known as the “make it look like the picture!” guy when it comes to standards and truly embraces current Legion culture. Eric Brager TK-9674 New England Garrison Eric was the lead LMO for the 501st Legion two terms from 2015 to 2017. He has twice been elected FISD Detachment Leader and has held a number of garrison level command positions in the 501st Legion We are so very excited to work with you guys! One thing I love so much about Detachments is the love for new CRLs and the passion. Both of which are very near and dear to my heart. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Detachment or LMO team. I prefer messages Here or to LMO@501st.com that way I keep record of them and can tag appropriate parties Thank you and have a nice day, Dawn Bright SL-13377 www.SL13377.com https://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=15902&costumeID=343

  8. Bummer Kris, I did update mine adding the missing silver bands, the black circles and also sanded and painted the black end screws, I'm not stripping the whole thing down just to add some extra led's though. It really comes down to local GML's but going of the CRL it doesn't mention the lights or how many there should be but does mention the extra silver bands. Perhaps some higher level details should be added to the CRL so basic requirements are a little more obtainable, after all we allow a lot less details for other optional weapons on other CRL's. Riot Baton The baton has a white base with two black triangles on both sides, a silver pommel, black side grips, and a silver handle perpendicular to the base. The end of the base has an extension roughly 1 foot long with 5 silver bands equally spaced apart. There is a black strip running down the center of both sides of the extension. At the end of the extension, there are two white half cylinder arms each with 5 silver bands equally spaced apart. The end of the half-cylinders are angled at roughly 45 degrees.

  10. Hi Dan, yes the switch has a very nice ‘click’. And the angles of the 3 positions match the ‘A R S’ printing on the grip very well. I’m very happy that Paul included this switch in my BlastFX kit!

  12. None of the red LED panels are accurate, the one furthest from the handle is too small and has 4 screw holes and the end cap is wrong. It's also missing a black circle either side, near the handle. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

  16. Hi Tina. Glad to see you starting a build thread here. Sounds like you ordered some cool stuff from Brian (@Bulldog44) and Chris (@themaninthesuitcase). This should make a nice blaster. This pvc tube is meant as a backfill behind the venting holes in the resin receiver. Just paint it black, slide it in and it will simulate your inner front barrel. No drilling required except for the spots where your scope rail and folding stock will lock in. You are on a good way. Keep the updates coming...

  18. For full transparency, a note to Zylo and anyone else reading along: Although we did originally decide as a DO team to not pass Zylo's original blaster for EIB, upon receiving feedback from some trusted members, it is evident that given the current CRL, his original blaster should have passed for EIB, although it likely would not have been allowed at Centurion. @zyloRN - I want to personally apologize for this mistake, but by the time we reached this conclusion, your new blaster had already arrived. One of the major things we strive for as DOs is consistency, but at the end of the day we are but human inside of our plastic space armor and we certainly do make mistakes. Unfortunately in this case, it resulted in a member spending extra money for a new blaster. Please feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow DOs if you have any further questions/concerns.

  22. Nice work trooper, Imgur is the way to go with posting photos, once you upload just copy the "direct link" straight into your post. Just a couple of things to really make your build stand out: Could bring your forearms up a little, they are touching your handguards. Ridges on forearms not matching, rotate the right arm to match the left. Shoulder bells could come in more at the top, reduce the strapping length. Adjust position of shoulder straps at the back so they are aligned better to back plate. Thigh cover strips should stop before the lower ridge. Drop boxes should align with the end of the plastic belt, you may need to add a dap of glue to the straps to help them stay in the same position. Ab button paint could be a little smaller, the smaller ab plate could be trimmed a little more, also the plates do not have rounded corners There are also a few images the DO's will want to see which I don't see in your application (perhaps they are in the links) Blaster both sides and D ring Thigh strip rivets, inside and out. Sniper plate from front and directly side on to show sniper plate to shin alignment. Butt/cod rivet/snaps. TD screws (and should be "pan head") S trim Green lenses Helmet screws top and bottoms. A few tweaks and I'm sure you will be fine, good luck

  33. I used a 1 in thick 3x3in size piece of hard foam when I did my sizing down and they came out great, Used 1 piece at the bottom and 1 at the top. yes, I removed them after I sized down. I have some soft foam in there now so they dont bounce or move when I'm walking Advice: Better to under trim it and have them slightly large than too tight and have to shim. (A painful lesson I learned on my calves)

  34. Excellent, I have a very similar gap. You don't want them too tight so you can move freely. Stairs are a challenge in a TK and that little bit of room may well allow you enough movement to negotiate them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
