It's been a long process, but I'm already itching to start another. I have to thank Rebecca, AKA Sharkbait for leading me through the process of acquiring my big brown box, answering all my ridiculous questions, and sharing her experience to help me get it done. Also Ukswrath for the amazing write-up! My first time in public in my TK is on Saturday and I cannot wait!3 points

Thanks for your notice. I've started fixing the paint on the helmet's teeth anyway. Regards, Miguel Ángel2 points

Again Josh great job on the fixes so far & we're almost there, just a couple more things. This could be a slight adjustment when putting your forearms on but ideally, the cover strips on the forearms/biceps could line up better. The ends of the TD clips should be square, not rounded. Remember that things like grips, t tracks, and hengstler counters were all plastic and shouldn't have metallic weathering. Reference images Real Sterling grip 2 points

Nice work, definitely a good idea to use double snaps in key areas, shoulder bells are another great area, they do take some abuse and having two snaps has helped me in the past from being able to troop when one let go1 point

February 27 2019 - Johnson City, TNNiswonger Children's Hospital visit 501st/Mando Mercs cross troop This was my first hospital visit, and honestly, I was pretty nervous. Niswonger Children's Hospital works with St. Jude and Shriners to treat childhood cancers and serious illnesses in our region. I can say without a doubt, these people are fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home, not to mention the amazing way they take care of these young patients. I really can't say enough good things about them. I'm glad we were able to visit. It is a scary situation for these kids and their families. If seeing a dude dressed up as a Star Wars character can just bring some good vibes to their day, I am so happy to do it. I hope for a full and speedy recovery for everyone we had the privilege to see that day.1 point

Mineral turpentine is fine but I generally use a tooth pick or sharp offcuts of abs1 point

I personally use Fasnap or DOT snaps, simply the best in my opinion. You can buy the setter tool when you purchase the snaps. https://fasteners.fasnap.com/viewitems/snap-fasteners---screw-studs/standard-snap-fasteners https://fasteners.fasnap.com/viewitems/hand-tools/disposable-hand-setting-dies1 point

Great news. Congrats to Panda for taking on armor making (I can't think of a more talented person to be a prop maker) and to RT for finding a great person to pass the torch to.1 point

Thanks, I assume that is mineral turpentine here in Australia. Doesn't damage the abs? I've also painted an off cut to see how it goes with the turps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I just hope they aren't relegated to duty beneath them like in Solo. We really need them to be something feared again, like in EP71 point

I've been struggling with what to write. You've been a hallmark of integrity and quality for so many years, I think at this point you have the longest tenure of any active armor maker, which is quite a record. History lesson for some people - when we created the CRL and EI standards back in the day (remember, at the time out of the box FX armor was the standard before then), several armor makers complained, but you never did. You just adjusted your molds so it would comply with the new CRL. My favorite memory though was when I had to head up to a troop in Vancouver with some garrison-mates and needed a new set of shins. Not only did you help GPS me to your home tp pick them up in person, but you had them pre-trimmed and ready to go. You even glued the fronts and added the sniper plate on. That was an above and beyond courtesy that set the bar as an example of how people should help each other out. I can think of no better person to pass the torch on to than Terry (PandaTrooper). His artistry and talent is first class, and his dedication to his hobby and community are beyond question. I remember when Outer Rim was what - 3 people? Your involvement in forming that squad and growing it to where it is today is something few have matched. I could write for hours praising the work and ethics of you two gentlemen, surely. It's a blessing to all that the tradition of RT lives on. Thanks again Rob for all you have done, and thanks Terry taking the armor to the next level.1 point

There is a raffle going on the UK, which says the winner will get a screen used Episode IX Trooper Helmet: Some User on reddit made a great comparison between the episodes: So there are some minor differences (can also be the camera angle) between the Episode 8 and 9 Helmet, but over all it seems they keept the Episode 8 Design1 point

You could also take a little of the edges off your large ab plate and corners are not rounded1 point
