  2. Finally another update. LED strip housing The BlastFX LED strip will be placed inside an acrylic tube that I sanded down a bit to make it “milky white”. I will place the LED strip between two half-round rods, one of which I hollowed out with the Dremel: 20190310_141652 The selection switch Today I worked on the rotary selection switch, which will be fully functional in my blaster. I started by recreating the shape of the lever from an aluminum strip, and filed a notch on both sides such that it could slide into the actual switch (knurling pattern will be added in a later stage, using a thin layer of green stuff): 20190310_164145 Then came the nerve wrecking Dremeling of a hole big enough to fit the rotary selection switch without damaging the grip. I drilled a hole from the top of the grip to the hole for the switch to guide the cables: 20190310_212650 I used green stuff to fill up the hole and keep the switch in position: 20190310_203912 Trigger switch As you probably already noticed in the previous pictures, I had also mounted the trigger switch in the same way (Dremeling a hole, insert the switch, fill up with green stuff). Here’s a short video of testing the trigger switch: 20190310_142015 That’s it for now, cheers mates!

  4. Hi again Chris and thank you for your EIB application! In this review I will ensure that your armor follows the requriments set out in the CRL L2 Expert Infantry Badge and also point out what I can to prepare you for Centurion, should you choose to apply. I hope you do! Let´s get started shall we! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. As we navigate through this review we are going to start with the helmet and work our way down. You have already added white paint to the rims of the Hovi´s and the only other little detail is the frown. We like to suggest you smooth it out just a tad and please, look more to the ref pic rather than that drawing () We realize that when raising the arms there might be a small gap between the chest and ab plate (idealy there´s not) but there´s also a indication of that when the arms are relaxed. Upon further trouble-shooting we noticed that there is a lean to the whole upper armor (ab/chest). This could be the way you are standing or a strapping issue so we suggest you look into what´s causing this. This bracket elastic looks to be up to no good - sort him out Trooper Moving on to the ab buttons we feel that reducing the size of the paint would be more in keeping with the originals. A tooth-pick and a few minutes of TLC should have that sorted and light shave of the smaller button plate wouldn´t go amiss That´s it for the front so we move to the back and drop down to the TD. Here we suggest you rotate the TD downwards simply by bending the clips. As seen in the ref pic the control panel should be facing out a bit more. Still on the TD another suggetion would be to see if you can bend the clips to lay flatter on the tube itself to avoid any "snagging-incidents" On to the shins and just a reminder to check the allignment for a clean look. Lastly we have the blaster D-ring, we suggest you change it out to something more accurate. And that´s it for EIB and again Congratulations! - moving along! Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application. At this moment we only see one thing and CRL states: idealy there´s no gap between the kidney and ab plate and by the looks of things it´s only a matter of adjusting the strapping and/or a small shave of the upper return edges of the kidney/ab plate. All done! Now...enjoy beeing an Expert Infantry Man #900! for a few days and then get that Centurion application in!

  5. Welcome! Looks like you're starting like so many of us did: "I want to be a Stormtrooper. Now what?" To get it right, you'll be building the suit. The ready-to-wear "costumes" just are not the same quality, accuracy, etc. and really don't save you that much. Decide WHICH Stormtrooper you want to be. Old school original trilogy? Clone? First Order? Also, let us know where you're based so we can help with local suppliers and you'll get answers from others in your area. This community is FULL of helpful people ready to answer any and all questions for you. We've all been down this path. It can be overwhelming, so ask LOTS of questions and we'll be glad to help you on your journey.

Sean was the Commanding Officer for the 501st Dewback Ridge Garrison and he championed the inclusion of local costuming groups in events. Sean lived to serve and always made others feel welcomed. He loved to laugh and enjoyed helping others do the same. Sean often told others he had their backs, a promise he never failed to keep. Sean is survived by his young son, Jacen. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. "Buckets Off" It is sad news that we report the loss of another legion member, Gerardo Fernández (DZ-7092) of the 501st Skull Garrison TX 5525 passed away on the 24th February 2019. Gerardo was known as “Big Trooper", not only because of his height, but also because of the generosity of his heart. He is remembered for bringing joy and enthusiasm to each troop. Gerardo is survived by his loving wife Mariela Garcidueñas, and their son Patricio. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. "Buckets Off" It is also very sad news that we report the loss of another legion member, Mercedes Rentas Gelabert DZ-11927, who passed away on 3 March 2019. Mercedes a member of the Star Garrison, at 91 she was the oldest known member of the 501st Legion. Our community is a family, and Mercedes knows about family. With her membership, four generations of her family were enlisted in the 501st. Mercedes is survived by her 7 children, 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Our condolences go out to her family and friends. "Buckets Off" Greetings troopers, Almost three years ago I went to this Star Wars Reads day at a library in Fairfield Connecticut. As I was driving down I remember feeling nervous; this was after all only my second troop. What if I forgot my gloves that I had double checked were in my bag at least 6 times? What if I slipped and fell down and looked like a fool, or heaven forbid broke my helmet? That and a million other silly things were racing through my head on the drive down. We arrived, dressed up, and headed down to greet folks coming into the library. Not even 15 minutes into the troop something unexpected happened; I felt something I hadn't seen crash into me! Like a cart or something. I tried to figure out what it was, and why no one around me seemed to be panicking, and when I finally managed to look through the meshed teeth on my helmet I realized what had bumped into me and why no one was worried. A little girl, maybe 8 at best, was in front of me, hugging me as hard as she could. We talked about all the important things: Her favorite characters were the Stormtroopers, but Darth Vader was pretty cool too. Her favorite movie was Return of the Jedi, because of all the Stormtroopers. She liked the Star Destroyers (even had a shirt of one). But most importantly, I was her favorite Stormtrooper ever. Why's that I asked? "Because you're a girl, just like me!" That little girl became what I think of when I think of Star Wars, the fandom around it, and just how big of an impact we make on others when we take part in this hobby of costuming. With election season over we're joined by a couple of new faces and a lot of familiar ones. One I'm certain everyone in this detachment knows is Joseph, and I am so happy for the opportunity to venture into this new and exciting year working along side him and every member here! So what exciting stuff is coming up soon? We've been planning for Celebration Chicago! We'll be having a our detachment group photo shoot at 9am just before the main Legion photo shoot, and anyone attending should be sure to drop by and join in the picture! Keep an eye out for further announcements regarding Celebration activities on the forums, as well as 501st events on the main website. We're also finalizing our merchandise planning for the coming year. More announcements to come on that in the coming weeks from our Branding and Merchandise Officer @Harbinger. Finally, with Episode 9 around the corner we'll be getting in gear to start accommodating those costumes with CRLs, as well as updates to the pictures and clarity on many of our existing ones. FISD thrives off the amazing community, and as always, if you have a cool idea you'd like to share and see implemented we'd love to hear all about it! Thanks for your time, and I'm looking forward to a marvelous year. With Unquestioned Loyalty Sarah Bailey TK-20466 "Alay" Detachment Leader Greetings to all! It looks as if we have an exciting new term coming up. As you may have noticed we have more than a few members who have changed roles, and several who have been added to the Command Staff. As I am stepping down from the role of Deployment Officer, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the newest members of the team, Daniel (Theswede), Andy (First0rder) and Mike (msouza). I will be remaining on for a time in an advisory position to assist in the transition and help with the training, but I have complete confidence that they will continue to keep up the traditions and high standards of the office and will all be up to speed quickly. Sha Sha (shashachu) continues to do an outstanding job, and will eventually take over as "Senior" D.O. once the dust settles and I'm sure it's a position she will shine in. Please know that while their attention to details is way above average, there is an incredible amount of "behind the scenes" information to learn in the form of policies and procedures. In order to keep our standards up to par, I have asked them to take their time when reviewing EI and Centurion submissions for the time being. This means that it may take a little longer than normal for your costume to be approved, so please bear with us. My main focus in the next few months will be the CRL updates for Expert Infantry and Centurion levels. Some of the requirements currently listed can be a bit unclear, and due to their ever-evolving nature we are always finding things that need to be added/refined. Many of you have strong opinions on these, and you will certainly be welcome and encouraged to share them, but there comes a point when we have to move forward. Please know that exceptions to these updates will be made for those who have already posted their requests at the time when the new CRL changes take effect, and plenty of advance notice will be given. In addition to the actual requirements, we will also be going over the CRL models. Many of these are outdated and do not reflect the "ideal" look we are aiming for. I have approached several of you whose armor is truly outstanding to submit photos, but if you believe your costume goes above and beyond I encourage you to get in touch with me via PM. Be aware that all future CRL models can have holstered weapons, but cannot be holding them, as in many cases they obscure a lot of costume details. We have a lot of great things coming up this year, and I sincerely hope that you will all be a part of them! With Unquestioned Loyalty Joseph Pedigo TK-10863 "justjoseph63" Executive Officer Greetings troopers! With Unquestioned Loyalty Aaron Gibson TK-99725 "Pyrates" Curator Hall of Fame 709th Red Fury First glimpse of the 709th banner which will be available from Disney Park's - Galaxy's Edge "This is the nickname of the First Order’s 709th Legion. Unlike the 501st Stormtroopers, who do a lot of charity work and visit kids in hospitals, these bad guys are actually bad. They’re currently trying to occupy Black Spire Outpost … and they welcome new recruits. Just buy a uniform, and pledge allegiance to the dark side." *Note this is not one of them* Stormtroopers first debuted in the original Star Wars in 1977, with each subsequent film finding new ways to reinvent the terrifying military squad with new armor to accommodate various environments. A new report about the upcoming Disneyland and Walt Disney World attraction Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge might have confirmed early reports about a new type of First Order Stormtrooper that is set to debut in Star Wars: Episode IX. WARNING: Possible spoilers below for Star Wars: Episode IX Various rumors have circulated in recent months which claim that Stormtroopers with red armor will be appearing in Episode IX, indicating a more elite form of infantry. When discussing Galaxy's Edge and the characters guests might encounter there, one Disney representative may have confirmed these red troopers. “The 709th, the Red Fury,” Scott Trowbridge, the Imagineering creative executive in charge of Galaxy’s Edge, shared with Entertainment Weekly when discussing the First Order Stormtroopers that will be exploring the attraction. “There are some stories to be told about those folks, and why they’re here, what they came looking for — or who they came looking for.” The outlet also noted, "This elite squad from The First Order has arrived on a new ship — the TIE Echelon, which has a cockpit similar to Kylo Ren’s bat winged shuttle but the curved foils of Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced x1." Image has been leaked on multiple Star Wars news sites. While "Red Fury" might seem like an obvious name for elite Stormtroopers who wear red armor, the various other details, such as them being a specific squad as opposed to an entire garrison or that they arrive on a new ship, would lend credence to rumors that these new troopers debuting in Episode IX. These descriptions sound similar to what we learned about the Death Troopers in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, who had very minimal screen time despite their intimidating appearance. Another representative from Disney explained that the various narratives that will unfold at the park will take place between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Episode IX, adding more fuel to the fires of speculation. “We want to give the impression that this planet has always been around, and that we’re coming into it as travelers for the first time onto Batuu,” Margaret Kerrison, managing story editor with Walt Disney Imagineering, explained. “There are layers and layers of history and all of these other characters, familiar and new, who have come and gone to this planet.” Between this confirmation that a new squad of elite Stormtroopers will be lurking Batuu, the events of Galaxy's Edge taking place before Episode IX, and the nickname "Red Fury," Disneyland and Walt Disney World guests could come face to face with these new Stormtroopers when the attractions open later this year (for those of you who can get in). Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open on May 31st, 2019 in Anaheim. Walt Disney World will see the park open on August 29th, 2019. However, the park is going to have two phases. Phase One will have the Smuggler’s Run aka The Falcon Ride. But Rise of the Resistance will not be open until Phase 2 later in the year. Stormtrooper Oddities - What have you noticed? There you are watching your favourite Star Wars movie and then you notice something odd with a particular Stormtrooper that you hadn't seen before, there are a lot of oddities seen in the movies, some are really common, here's one of the most recognisable "Mr No Stripes" http://www.starwarshelmets.com/2007/ANH_HD_stunt10.jpg Now that doesn't mean you can rush out and pull off your tube stripes and get approval for another version of Stormtrooper, CRL's are made with consistency in mind so if you only see one of a particular thing it's an oddity and won't be in the CRL's Seems the more times you watch the movies the more you notice and especially once you research a particular costume/character, so what have you noticed?, let's see the obscurest you have found so far. I'll start the ball rolling, I thought I'd seen them all but I must admit I hadn't noticed this trooper's oddity until just recently, seems to have been in a hurry to dress and forgot which shin goes on what side. Now lets see your most obscure oddity, here is the thread, post away. Want Your Troop to be Included? At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: "While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted for the week surrounding the May 4th Star Wars Day holiday, which will be April 29 – May 5. All fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with retailers of their choice to celebrate Star Wars Day during this one week window with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. Although these store appearances will be treated like an open invite, we’ll leave it to the fan groups to independently organize around these events as they see fit. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these." "Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. If the retail location does not stock Star Wars products you should NOT be attending." As always there are strict rules, please speak to your Garrison Commanding Officer, Squad Leader or if you have one Garrison Events Coordinator before organising any event. *REMEMBER* Always follow your garrison/squad's guidelines when in comes to organising Disney/LFL promotional troops, only command staff can deal direct with LFL. Do you enjoy using your knowledge to help out future and existing Troopers? If so, we would like to invite you to join the Imperial Attaché program! Members of the I.A. team are chosen to help out not only those here on the boards, but on a local level as well. Our aim is to have at least one in each and every Garrison, Squad and Outpost in the entire legion to be the eyes and ears of the FISD on a local level. A suggested level of EIB or above is preferred, as part of the duties include assisting those aiming for levels 2 and 3, but is not a requirement. Being active on the boards on a regular basis , welcoming new members and helping out where you can is, though. Some of the benefits: 1. Access to exclusive Attaché merch., including patches, etc. 2. Having the Imperial Attaché title under your name. 3. Being a part of the team that welcomes new and prospective members of the FISD. 4. Being the "go-to" person in your Garrison, Squad or Outpost. 5. Exclusive access to the Attaché HQ area, Imperial Propaganda Machine (newsletter) and merchandise discussions. We are currently in need of Attaches in many units, especially International Garrisons/Squads and Outposts. As your ambassador, one of my primary roles here is to make sure you are active. It is vital to the Attaches on this board to be the continued beacons and light to the new troopers joining the boards. You all have been those beacons, and I am damn proud of you all. If you have not checked in yet, the 2019 check-in thread can be found here: Thank You! With Unquestioned Loyalty Preston Christman TK-91488 "Pretzel" PRO Lead - Attaché Ambassador So what exactly are EIB (Expert Infantry Badge) and Centurion levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, (level 1), EIB, (level 2) and Centurion, (level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) Trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ While blasters are not required for basic approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (available for a very minimum cost) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. EIB https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/ Centurion https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ Just remember that the FISD is here to help you every step of the way with whatever other questions you may have, but if you can't seem to find what you are looking for in your research, just ask away here on the forum. As many of you are aware, the FISD is currently in our March to 1000 program. Our goal is to reach the one thousand mark of Troopers who have earned their Expert Infantry Badge, and although we are well on our way to this goal and have just reached the 900 mark! The amount of approved submissions is increasing (over 80 this year alone) thanks to the dedication of those willing to go the "extra mile" toward screen accuracy. Here is a brief description of EIB as written by Paul (Daetrin), our founder: "Expert Infantryman status is not required for members of this detachment. It should be viewed as an optional set of requirements for those who wish to take the accuracy of their costumes to the next level, and be recognized accordingly. We're a costuming club - think of it as an award for costuming excellence and you get the picture. The requirements will not replace or supersede 501st standards, but only serve as an inspiration for the level of accuracy that can be achieved. The standards are meant to be high but achievable..." Besides the added pride you will have in your armor, those reaching this level can purchase exclusive EIB gear (patches, decals, coins etc.) and get a free certificate for your accomplishment. 8. I traveled 5.5 hours one-way to participate in this troop. For many reasons. First off, it was an annual event in honor of a sweet little boy taken way too early from Leukaemia. That used to love to ride his bike. This is one way his family has honoured his life. Second, because it was a fundraiser put on by teenagers aged 15-18 in grades 10-12 (my sons age group) not only did they raise money for Spenser’s Fund, but were encouraged to choose the charity of their choice, and support that. Thirdly, one of our Garrison members teaches at this high school, and has been on a trooping hiatus for a good many year due to severe health issues and life. It was a last minute request, and I wanted him to know that he was an important part of our Garrison and I went to support his return to trooping. Fourthly, I missed my TK Twin, Brother, and other Garrison Family I’m just so far away from. Fifth, I was asked to do temporary body tattooing on the children while they weren’t currently on their bikes. I volunteered my time. (In my free time, when I’m not sewing, I do body art) I stayed after our nights troop and did art in the wee hours of the am. I can’t even begin to imagine the kilometres I’ve put on my vehicle to troop! Every mile worth it. Smiles For Spenser is a 24 hour Bike A Thon where teams must keep their bike in motion at all times. It was created in honor of the youngling and his battle through his illness. Countless moments spent in a chemo therapy room. The funds generated go to purchasing a gift package for every child as they begin their horrifying journey in that room. It’s full of presents. Activities. Books. Blankets. Toys. You name it, it’s in there. Given in the hopes to lift their spirits and keep their thoughts occupied during treatment. I can identify with this, having been my younger Sisters chemo partner during each of her treatments over the 2.5 years she fought for her life. I know how important it is to keep those you love uplifted. And focused elsewhere during those times. I’ve volunteered many many hours to strangers in those chemo rooms. Both my Sister, and Spenser lost their fight against the cancer that ravaged their bodies. What these teenagers were doing for others was important to me. Well worth the 11 hours of driving to support them as they biked through the night. I appreciated the ability for the teens to also choose a charity that meant something to them personally. I strongly believe in teaching our youth the value and power of giving of yourself for no other reason than love or compassion. Unconditionally. From the heart. There were 200 children there at this event giving of themselves in the hopes to make a difference. I really wanted this event to be supported. So before it even came across our forum boards, I personally messaged members. Asking them if they could be free and join the few of us already committed to being there. We trooped in 2 shifts with a break in between while a band played. Where we snacked, visited, laughed. 14 of us made it out that night on only 3 days notice. To support Teacher/member Greg, and the children. And the event. These teens raised $25,000 this year. I commend their efforts. I can’t state this enough- I love my Garrison Family with all my heart. They really are a great group of individuals full of compassion and caring. Moments like this make me want to shout out loud how special these moments are, how great these humans are, and how grateful I am to have experienced and shared this with others. Why I’ve chosen the 501st Legion as the Organization I give my spare time to, as well as the nerdy family known as the Badlands Garrison of which I’m proud to belong to. With a happy heart, Teresa/TK 41307/ SoulArt Geeky Pink [emoji175] TK Twin and I battling it out with the kids! Officer Sal helping a team out. Henry’s R2 was a hit! 10. You’re totally right. I’m definitely an old school type of guy ops stormtrooper. Even though I also hav a liking to the scout troopers. I’m originally from Gosport England but now live in Runcorn Brisbane. I was definitely tempted by the “ready to wear “ outfit, but from the advice from everyone so far I’m definitely going to take my time and build my own. Thanks for the help and if it’s ok I’ll keep asking for advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Hi Luis and welcome back for a second Centurion submission - let´s get started shall we! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos appear to be present. First we like to thank you for making the changes suggested in your EIB application and in this one. On behalf of myself and the D.O team - Congratulations of reaching yet another Centurion. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this area we discuss any areas still needing some improvement. Although they did not hold you back from Centurion, at this level it's all about the small details that will really make your armor look its best. We only have two small things - your shoulder bridges seem be to holding on for dear life in the back so...we recommend you reposition them to have less bumps on the front and that will reduce the risk of them slipping under the back plate. And the TD could stand some more tweeking so the control panel faces up more. And that´s it! Head on out in your Centurion kit and make the Empire proud

  22. If only Flickr would finally process that video... It fits in the receiver tube, but I will have to cut a piece out of the acrylic tube where the scope rail enters the receiver tube. I frosted the tube because I didn't like how you could see the individual LEDs from outside the barrel. Thanks for the feedback guys!

  23. I still have to do mine........ My ID is TK-42275 apparently we are from the same batch........ Also here is a link to my EI

  24. Wow wow wow - most excellent progress. Very nice precision work here on installing electronics for the selector switch and on that acorn nut part. Boy, I certainly feel for your apprehensions; great execution!! IMO, frosting the acrylic tubing dissipates the light where as keeping it clear and adding krinkled celephane carrie's the light down the tube ... but with LED strips on this BlastFX v2, light is evenly distributed down the tube - so if a milky light effect is your cup of tea, no doubt the effect will be sweet. Keep up the superb work! Sent from my SM-G390W using Tapatalk

  25. Selector switch looks great! Nice work on that and the light tubes. Looking forward to see how the sanded tube helps with the LED lights. Does it all fir nicely in the receiver tube? Keeps those updates coming!

  26. Attended my second armor party in Tokyo and concentrated on my TD. The CRL being 190.5mm and the reference image being 184mm, I've decided to go for CRL measurements with aspects close to the reference image. So I cut the end caps and used a belt sander to get them to 20mm ( image makes them look slightly different but they are identical.) The tube is black which have already purchased rattle can of grey to paint. The diameter is a perfect tight friction fit without glue and matches the CRL. The length was a bit over given the caps add an extra 10mm each so I also gave this a trim. Given some final fine tuning I should be able to get the CRL length of 190.5mm I'm always considering novel options and was wondering if anyone tried using the TD as a storage container? With the exception of the screws poking inside it is basically a hollow tube with end caps that could be removable. Even if it just held a repair kit inside. Also magnets could be glued inside to hold it to the armor/belt to reduce chance of it falling off or stolen by those tricky jawas?

  28. Just a few things that I see, but i'm nitpicking (I got my EI with an Anovos kit) Large Ab button plate could use a trim, Your ears look Awesome, I'm guessing you had a hell of a time getting those to sit right. The over spray on the frown, (had same issue with mine) The grey paint should be confined to the actual teeth But other than that, it looks really clean, Should be an easy EI approval, best of luck to you

  35. Words cannot decribe how excited I am! After many setbacks, a lot of frustration, it is finally working! This is my personal cast with a test insert piece that I just did after I modified the mold Next week, I expect to get a lens test. If that fits, shipping out kits will follow immediately I learned a lot during this project, made (expensive) mistakes (note to myself: When Luke says "it will not work" , it will not work) but as always, the result matters in the end :) I want to thank @sni9er for the constant support, @Mr Mold Maker for giving tips as well and all the supporters who helped, bringing this project to life!

  39. I too think the R1 TK's look best. and its because they are just that, "idealized". It is how you remember it, or at least think it would look, and has the maneuverability that the OT don't.
    1 point
  40. I am anxious as well for the kit. I don't care what others may think, or how blasphemous it may sound, but I prefer the "idealized" look if the R1 TKs. This is how I remember them from the OT.

  41. this is exactly what they use heres the link to their build..... I've personally have seen it and its very complex lol their chest holds a battery thats pretty big and it holds what they call the brain for the trooper in which they have to connect to a computer and make sure all is in their and running smooth they do activate it with hand gestures its like a rubbery material that gets put on to thumb and then they just make different finger positions for different pre recored sounds I'm pretty sure I'm very late but this is the link to a bit of whats in their armor. https://www.google.com/patents/US20140358263
