NECKSEALS

Neckseals are worn to ensure that there is no exposed skin between the helmet and the undersuit and are clearly seen on characters in A New Hope

CRL (Costume Reference Library)

The CRL for all stormtrooper costumes is as follows:
* Black ribbed neck seal. The ribs should be horizontal, not be loose, and should extend from the base of the neck to the top of the adam's apple.

Neckseals can be made with a variety of materials that range from gloss to shiny. Shiny is more canon but the material is harder to find. Neckseals usually come attached to a bib to ensure there is no gap between the neckseal and underarmor. Alternatively, some people sew the neckseal directly in to the undershirt, which has the advantage of ensuring that one never forgets to bring it with them to a troop.
